England have lost this. Absolutely clueless this morning, field settings and tactics enployed have been embarrassing.

Is Woakes injured?

Don’t think Root is a very good captain to be honest.

Selection of Ali could very well have cost the game. Anderson a huge loss but this wicket has rapidly turned into a spinners wicket and he can't get anyth

1. He's bowled poorly in all formats since the West Indies tour finished.
2. He's a confidence player and as seen in 17-18 the Aussies will target anyone like that
3. SA managed to identify and exploit a weakness to slow left arm off spin in Smith last year. Given Smith's ability to win a match single handedly, he had to play for me, I said this from months ago

NB Starc and Hazelwood were dropped on pre-series form.
All relevant but all pale into significance when you are talking about a bowler who went into the game as the heaviest wicket taker in world cricket in the last 12 months. He had clearly earned his selection for the test for his performances in this format of the games. He’s been poor but it was hardly an outrageous selection at the time.
Also if Starc was dropped why will he replace Siddle next game when he has bowled very well? Perhaps it’s because they are rotating in a 5 test series and choosing bowlers according to the playing conditions? England would be doing the same if injuries weren’t dictating selection.

I reckon they will at some point Today, probably after tea. What is the weather forecast tomorrow?

Aussies love an aggressive approach
