Technically quite similar - not in method so much, but in strengths. Neither of them can ever really score freely through extra cover. They basically have two off-side shots - straight drive, square cut - and an absolutely ruthlessness to plunder when the bowler strays too straight. It's a great method in England when combined with patience and grit.

The ball change has definately given the Aussies a lift. Just dosn't seem fair at all. the ball is said to be a used one from the 2018 test against India, its probably a one that our fielders worked on tiresly to keep one side shiny which gives the swing. Umpires have been a complete joke so far in this first test.
