What a beautiful place it is. Been a few times as a youngin, but went today with a couple of my mates for a ride. It's amazing. The north east is so under-rated imo.

Beautiful place, to think that Ian Huntley is just up the road from there too the sick bastard.

gorgeous
do they still let young'uns in the river? used to love sitting down in the rapids and having my arsecheeks dragged along rocks! :D quality place though
camped there once overnight and got mugged

You must lead quite a disturbed life if that's what springs to mind

My uncle is a prison officer there so you here some stories, worst one I've heard is about a guy that kept shoving a TV aerial down his japs eye, they had to keep taking him to hospital to remove it as when he pulled it out it'd extend and the large bit on the end would get trapped.

One of my earliest memories was playing in the river, I think you can still do it.

He wasn't a giver but a receiver

He must have some size japs eye.

It's be possible but must really hurt but that's how he got his kicks, like I said he done it a few times.

Used to go regularly as a young 'un. There and Plankey Mill hold some fantastic memories of, as Pell so eloquently put it, 'having your arsecheeks dragged along rocks'.

Whorlton Lido springs to mind.

Yep, health and safety i heard. Was good cheap fun on a sunny weekend.

I dont think it was that, I just think someone rich bought it and closed it to members of the public. Saying that I very nearly drowned there as a kid but I suppose it was my own fault for jumping in like a lemming while I couldn't swim
