Film castings that never were.....

Sylvester Stallone was busy filming Beverly Hills Cop but he wanted it to be a more serious film and more explosions etc. It would have cost millions and they didn't have the money so they replaced him with Eddie Murphy

Glad he didn't get his own way then.

Another actor done a month worth of shooting for Aragorn in lord of the rings but was replaced for looking too young.

Russell Crowe was supposed to be in Kingdom of Heaven rather than Orlando Bloom.

“The Matrish ish everywhere. It ish all around ush. Even now, in thish very room. You can shee it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxesh. It ish the world that hash been pulled over your eyesh to blind you from the truth.”

“YEAH, BOI!”
"Awww, hell no!"

another one from the 70's, although both lead actors did stay in the same film - The Man Who Would Be King - Connery and Caine did an interview talking about their upcoming project where at the time of interview they had each others role! (so Caine as the man who became King and Connery as his sidekick) - it was Caine's real life wife who was going to play Roxanne (who Connery marries at end of film) - if that makes sense ... they swapped roles at last minute

Michelle Pfeiffer instead of Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs

Terence Hill was offered and refused a cameo in Tarantino's Django Unchained because he didn't want to appear in a film with violence ... while the original Django (Franco Nero) did take a small role in the film (bloke who is stood at bar talking to revamped Django during bar/wrestling scene when they talk about how you pronounce Django)

Terence Hill had been huge star back in the 70's with westerns made by Italians/German film companies. Some of the music from his 70's films had been re-used by Tarantino in Django Unchained (like the Trinity is Still my Name theme) - ironically some of Terence Hill's films grossed more in the box office back then than Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns

Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews did they same in Brideshead Revisited, which I feel was the right decision.

Flavor Flav turned it down as well?
