Ferdinand or Da Silva?

Bardsley - Onuoha - Turner - Richardson

Man City fans seem to think that Ned is a far more accomplished CB than he is RB anyway. We could do with his extra mobility in the centre as well.

Good shout that like. Last night wasn't the 1st game he's been drawn in*, doesn't seem to hug the by-line (or, more importantly, the wide man).

Surely Ferdinand has played his last match (bar more injuries).

*Even his wonder goal he picked it up very central.:)

I dare bet Man City fans have virtually seen nothing of Onuoha at centre back tbh, as he's mostly played at right back. I can't even recall him having a decent spell at centre half.

Most people also said the same until Richards played there often....

I'm not sure it's the right time for trying it here.

Not sure about that at all mind. I'm certain his primary position has always been CB, he even mentioned it in an interview when he signed

As a youth and under twenty ones it has. At club level I can barely remember him playing there often - it's nearly always been at right back, filling in for Richards when he's been injured/too fat/on the piss/out of form.

But equally it was the same for Richards when he was younger and people expected him to develop into a top class centre half despite playing all his early club football at right back. Once he played there it was quickly realised he wasn't anywhere near as good. Doesn't mean it's going to be the case with Nedum, but he just hasn't got the experience there at the moment, nor have people seen enough to know.

Da Silva for me. Was a top performer in the world cup yet is well down the SAFC pecking order.
Its a calm experienced head needed in whats looking like a nervous defence and i think PDS is the guy.
Probably not the quickest player but most central defenders will tell you its more about reading the game. Also helps if you've got a confident keeper behind you.

Onouha. Da Silva's not suited for the Premiership and is too slow. I'm still not keen on Onouha at RB either, but I do think he would be a better choice than Ferdinand, who seems to have a major moment every time he plays Centre-back.

I think we know what we're getting with Ferdinand whereas Da Silva is still a bit of an unknown quantity. He was awful against West Brom but I still I think it's worth giving him a run of a game or two before we write him off completely.

DaSilva, but Onouha may actually be the best option when Titus and Mensah are both unavailable.

Send Ferdinand somewhere else, ANYWHERE else. Mybe we can convince some Asian side that HE IS the England international center half (pass him off as Rio) and get some kind of fee.
