Yet if Newcastle had avoided the drop and he'd joined the Rafalution you would have understood it entirely.
I think you devalue our club with your stance, don't appreciate how important avoiding the drop was and need to somehow recover your mojo. David Moyes would disagree with you.
No ,I'd take the exact same stance if he signed for anyone bar the mainstream 'big clubs '.

Fellaini would be a very good signing for us but he woulf probably cost about 20m. Can we afford that?

The thing is, who from the to clubs would suit his style?

If you look down the table, say from last year and adjusted for who is likely to be on top:

Leicester - maybe, but they're about breaking quickly, albeit he would win ball in the air for Vardy.
Arsenal - no
Spurs - no
Man City - no
Southampton - not sure of he fits the model, or if they'll spend big on someone who's 29 this year
Liverpool - no
West Ham - no
Chelsea - no
Swansea - no

Other teams, so might be interested are Stoke, West Brom, Palace, Watford, Everton, us, Bournemouth and the promoted clubs. So maybe we have a chance of attracting him, but we'd have to shell out a big fee and top wages to get him
