It's going to be one of those days today - so I'll be in need of a really good film tonight to uplift me, entertain me and possibly make me laugh or cry.
I'm not a huge contemporary Rom-com fan, I prefer the classics. So I've narrowed it down to one of these:
Roman Holiday
The Philadelphia Story
Gregory's Girl
The Odd Couple
The Adventures of Robin Hood
Singing in the Rain
What are your favourite feel good films? The first person to mention Love Actually will automatically go on ignore!
I'll add a quadrumvirate of documentaries:
The King of Kong
American Movie
Buena Vista Social Club
Anvil! The Story of Anvil
And while there’s a mention of musicals. Much better if you have the sound to go with the pics. Me bairn has grown up watching them, hence the animated stuff, with me so I’m a bit sentimental and whatnot.
Grease - Olivia. Fit as a bloody lop
Hairspray - blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice and every day should be negro day, what’s not to love
Wizard of Oz - probably best for Christmas - dinnar why
Chitty chitty bang bang - probably best for Easter - dinnar why
Shrek - the first one I saw, ignore the Donkey but did like the line “in the morning we’re making waffles”
Bugsy Malone
That new un with Hugh - The Greatest Showman - watched it with the bairn last weekend - canny.
Wall-E not much singing but this film is topper
Moana it’s got the Haway haway song in it man
Jungle Book ooh be doo ffs...
And Singin In The Rain - sponsored by Quincy and Phillips
Ha! Didn’t know what the fuck you meant but see it now.Logon or register to see this image
I haven't been able to watch the ending of Kes since I was 14 and they showed it to us when I was at school. I was a total mess. Couldn't eat my dinner afterwards. But I regularly watch the football scenes with Brian Glover which are class.
