Much like putting all games on terrestrial TV in the summer. They know it would boost interest in the sport, but it just doesn’t pay enough here and now.

You make some great points but the likes of Simon Hughes reckoned FTA wouldn't put it on a main channel unless it was a new glitzy franchise thing. For that reason I'm open minded.

Cricket doesn't need to reach out to you and me now or the 90,000 county members, it needs to engage the 8 year old kids. Hopefully this soulless competition will be their gateway drug for the proper stuff.
