Favourite theme parks

Which ones top of your list then?

Thorpe park for me. Further away and smaller than alton towers but a decent day out.

Portaventura if talking about abroad

Loved Lightwater Valley as a kid. Was saddened to hear they are taking the ultimate down and not fixing it up.

Portaventura is a good shout. Still love the pleasure beach, just something 1950s/60s England about it still.

Universal Studios (including IOA) is fantastic, but in terms of choice of rides my favourite was Six Flags Magic Mountain in California.
In the UK, I love Blackpool Pleasure Beach, it's seaside location combined with classic coasters and modern rides (plus everything in between) make it my top choice, although its more an amusement park than a Theme Park.
Alton Towers probably my second choice.

AT overratred for me, far far too busy these days.
Drayton Manor, while small, was decent too.
Ive done quite a few with kids over the years

Best day out we had was Queens funeral, at Flamingo Land, was no-one there literally got to sit and go round as many times as we wanted on every ride - my son went round the motorbike one 8 times in a row:lol:

Yeah, if you can get there outside the school holidays you get far quieter crowds, AT can be a nightmare otherwise. I wasn't too keen first time I went, but since going back with the kids its grown on me considerably.

We went to Flamingo Land the sunday after they'd had their footy tournament last year, it was busy (ish) until around 11 then dead after that, everything was walk on.

Luckily I’ve had ride access (Q Jump) at both AT and Flamingo Land for the last 10 years, so I’ve only really been to them, but I’ve been on all the big rides more than most people will in a lifetime.

Not fair to label it a death trap just because your granny’s teeth fell out. Sounds more like a freak accident to me than a faulty ride.

Used to go to Alton Towers every year for Halloween so probably that.

Really liked the one in Benidorm though, that was good.

Blackpool is a death trap, which adds to the excitement I suppose. I’ve not seen my brother fearful of anything bar the big rollercoaster there. Don’t even strap you in
