Fatal Accident Outside Durham

The problem would be proving who was driving, if there were three of them. I'm guessing that's why they're asking for dashcam footage of the car before the accident.

There was a similar case in a tv documentary last year where two of the occupants in a car were saying the other was driving when it crashed, and it was only months later they proved who it was from clothing fibres trapped in the driver's side seat belt.
They can normally lift DNA or fibres off the seatbelt the time of impact to prove who was driving.

Edit: read your post too quick, see you say that on the last line.

Hope they lock the bugger up, and throw away the key, knocking some poor bloke over and then legging it, shameful. Cannot understand how it takes12 months to bring a case like this to court either.

Was supposed to be at Durham crown court in March for sentencing, didn't notice anything in local news, was hoping he got a decent stretch.

Just been told another accident on the same stretch of road last night, about 7.30 just past the Seven Stars, mate reckons it was someone being chased by an unmarked police car, ambulance was in attendance so doesn't sound too good.
