Sorry to bug you mate, but your my most trusted source of Sony-based equipment advice! I'm looking to buy a telephoto lens for my a200 but I'm on a VERY tight budget. If you were me, would you buy an old Minolta 70-210 or a new Tamron 70-300? I've only got about £100 max to spend and I just really want to extend the range of my camera.

Edit - looking at the picture on the Rocky Cameras website it seems that it's actually a Sigma lens, not a Minolta.

Yeah, it was the Tamron from Jessops that was my other option. I've read some reviews though that said it was pretty soft at the longer end, with noticable cyan fringing, and that the AF motor is plastic and breaks easily. I also heard the bloke in Jessops saying bad things about it. Mind, I was all set to go get it until I saw the lens on Rocky Cameras.
