Fans getting frustrated and worried about KLD ownership already ?

Come on man. You make it sounds like since Donald took over we've tried the approach of buying our way out of the league. The only player we've chucked money at in all that time is grigg.

The reality is that, grigg aside, we've tried to do things on the cheap in our 3 seasons in league 1 in terms of player recruitment and it hasn't worked. And we're going to continue that approach it seems, but actually using some kind of recruitment framework this time.
Cheap managerial appointments and selling all the high salaried players they said they didn’t need to let go!

At this very juncture it’s a mess.
However, the appointments at every level of the club suggest KLD is serious and to be honest, he’d hardly need to come here to foul about would he?
So, gut feeling is it’ll get a lot better pretty quickly. The manager, however, after our horrendous implosion last season from a position of looking as though we’d go up, really has to get his finger out and prove that he’s the figurehead to get us out of this backwater league.
But who's advised him on the appointments made? He wouldn't have known of these people, why would he?

Agree like. Unfortunately I suspect the manager will sour the atmosphere which will lead to KLD taking some fire in the wake of it before things get any better.

Hope i'm wrong. Can't be arsed with another season of failed manager clinging on till he's punted and then the season starting all over again midway

We’ve spent far too much money on shite. That might not be throwing money around in terms of transfer fees but it’s still overpaying for underperforming shit.

Over £1m on players like Wyke, Power, Baldwin and O’9 in Y1, £3m on Grigg, fees on Scowen and Dobson in Y2 and a fee for Winchester and Arby in Y3. You’re looking at somewhere around £5m in three seasons on transfer fees and then wages on all of the free transfers each summer. I’m not having that we’ve not overspent. We have. £5m in League One for five players that within three years are gone already, tells you a lot. It’s a waste of money that could and should have been spent far more tactically and smarter (see Brentford and Barnsley especially for this).

I’m also referring to boardroom appointments, some of whom are KLD’s family business related people who, in essence, are there to protect and help him I’d think.
Johnson came in before he’d officially taken over so I’d imagine this will be the only case where he’ll accept such an important appointment on the say so of others.

We should spend smater, yes, of course we should. But grigg aside we've hardly spent anything in 3 seasons. Its barely above 1 million covering 6 windows when we should have had parachute payments giving us an advantage.

We need to spend smart, but if we want out of this league this year we need to spend. You can't rebuild a team on peanuts and expect promotion. Our support just won't stand for it. Patience will break very, very quickly.

The blokes only just took over the club and said it's a long term plan but it seems a lot of fans on social media and forums like this are increasingly worried about the club not having a pot to piss in basically

Rumours in the papers from respected journalists of strict budgets and difficult financial restraints and the like seems to have fueled these concerns. When the likes of Wigan and Ipswich are spending money

Hopefully this isn't the case because the last thing we need and want is another owner who doesn't invest in the squad
we are spending more money than wigan and ipswich

we spent huge sums...wages were highest in the league for all seasons in league one..
para money helped clear debts left behind..

We’ve spent loads. Loads on shit. That’s fees and/or wages, sometimes both. We’ve done £5m+ and have sold most of the crap we’ve overspent and overpaid.

I still honestly believe Donald is a lot more involved than we think. I reckon KLD is another smokescreen, no way does a billionaire foreign bloke just suddenly fall in love with a club. A club that he’s not going to make him any money from either.

so why would KLD get involvced at all?
and why do you think he wont get a profit from it?
e certainly bought the club to get a profit..why do you think SAFC is so shit it cant be profitable?

With how corrupt Donald is I’m well within my rights to be sceptical about the whole thing. Show me a club that has made the owner profits? It’s a very rare thing.

nonsense..KLD has brought some hugely eminent people onyto the board..public roles..those people are not putting their repuations on the line to be a smokesreen for a half wit like donald...

nmost premier league clubs make a profit now..or did pre pandemic..
its not a rare thing..burnley owners just made a huge profit from selling..
niall quinn and his mates made a tidy profit selling sunderland.

Any evdience donald has committed a crime? Corruption is a criminal act..j=he has lied and is very incompetent, but he is not acriminal..and KLDs mates dont get involved in things that are shit..they have reputations to preserve

Another armchair fan!

What makes you think we can’t afford to pay Wyke what Wigan offered him?
the rules of the league decide what we pay people..nothing to do with safc
