Fans getting frustrated and worried about KLD ownership already ?

And were well over 60% wages/income before it. Johnson's tight budget relates to headroom within that unless/until we offload Grigg or O'Brien. Our previous overpaying players is still buggering us up.
Do we still owe much in loyalty payments? Had someone going on about us still owing Cattermole £1 million today.

What worries me is that at the end of last season KLD was buzzing around the club, going to games and in discussions with supporters of our club. Since the defeat in the play offs its like he's disappeared off the face of the earth.
Am sure someone posted he'd taken a liking to the quayside. Bit of a playboy perhaps. Last seen at Wembley

He's been around the beacon and foundation of light loads

It would certainly appear that Ipswich and Wigan especially are throwing money at players. We’ve done that in the past and ended up paying about four times too much for Grigg and lumbered with the useless knacker on a pretty lengthy deal. Let others do it. It might work for them.

My only concern is how long it takes for players to gel but the season is 46 games long and we’ve got an age, really. Get players in when we can, rather than going with a scatter gun approach that we’ve used before.

The owner said that from the start. Not his fault a load of fans ignored it in their new-billionaire-owner euphoria.

this is a fair point. It’s people who’ve built this takeover up to be something majorly transformational and exciting, with #cans and the like, that are going to find this most disappointing. I think remaining realistic and healthily skeptical about the entire arrangement will be best for everyone’s mental health

That's clear as mud. The agreement, as reported is ambiguous. Under the worst interpretation, we could be paying Catts £1m for each of the next two seasons. It's unclear if, as he's no longer our player, this would count towards our cap, but it's possible, and this would certainly be a headache.

Did we really need Fraser with Pritchard and Embelton. Pritchard has played in that role at a much higher level and Embelton for a team that got promoted from League 1 as recently as 6 weeks ago.
Worrying that so many seem to think this Pritchard will even work tbh

The blokes only just took over the club and said it's a long term plan but it seems a lot of fans on social media and forums like this are increasingly worried about the club not having a pot to piss in basically

Rumours in the papers from respected journalists of strict budgets and difficult financial restraints and the like seems to have fueled these concerns. When the likes of Wigan and Ipswich are spending money

Hopefully this isn't the case because the last thing we need and want is another owner who doesn't invest in the squad

Fancy a swap?
Lee Power is without a club and would love another crack at destroying another.

We lost 11 first team players most of whom they knew would be leaving. 3 weeks to go to the start of the season and we've added 2 in Pritchard and Embleton. We do not have any full backs. I have no frustration with KLD but the lads he's appointed should be frustrating.

To add insult to injury out smerking fool of a Head Coach has said the fans don't understand the constraints Covid has put on the market while our rivals fill their boots.

He will have a lengthy honeymoon period because he's foreign and he's rich. Simple as that. The hysteria when he appeared at that U23 game was weird

It'll all go pear shaped. It always does at SAFC. Nowt much has changed regardless of the conviction some have that we've undergone the biggest revolution in decades

He may well just be a gimmick-seeker without much of a clue. Why even would he have a clue to be honest?

The difference between the previous and the current ownership is huge. Having met both I am convinced that we are in good hands. KLD’s first full season will start next month. Up to now he has bailed us out / stabilised us when we had no income and he has put better structures in place. To base himself here last season during covid shows his commitment.

It‘s not a question of trying to buy every player and then being stuck with them for a couple of years. Maybe our dealings are slow but it’s a question of getting them right and matching them to the squad requirements. We might not even get an instant lift but I would be surprised if our trajectory is not in the right direction this season and if it isn’t I would expect him to do something about it.

There seems to be a definite desire to play an exciting brand of football as well, I’m looking forward to it.

Come on man. You make it sounds like since Donald took over we've tried the approach of buying our way out of the league. The only player we've chucked money at in all that time is grigg.

The reality is that, grigg aside, we've tried to do things on the cheap in our 3 seasons in league 1 in terms of player recruitment and it hasn't worked. And we're going to continue that approach it seems, but actually using some kind of recruitment framework this time.

At this juncture it’s a mess.
However, the appointments at every level of the club suggest KLD is serious and to be honest, he’d hardly need to come here to fcuk about would he?
So, gut feeling is it’ll get a lot better pretty quickly. The manager, however, after our horrendous implosion last season from a position of looking as though we’d go up, really has to get his finger out and prove that he’s the figurehead to get us promoted out of this backwater league.

byrne’s statement at the time was that they wouldn’t leave a penny behind (something like that), so I assume that’s the case.
