Not all of them scruffy but they only seem to wear SI and CP and primarily in black. No imagination amongst them!
What is the craic with that. All these kids going around in black or dark grey like they are gang members or something?

Maybe it’s down to music glamourising gang culture?

Social media and the push for going viral, creating scenes for the approval of others etc. Platforms like Twitter reducing the public discord to disagreeable single sentences and thought processes.
This is why we never had pitch invasions and fan disturbance before social media

Man Utd started it with men in black but it’s the continental ultras that all seem to wear that style. It means the coppers/CCTV cant easily identify them.
A long way from the pastel Pringle jumpers I sported in the mid 80s 😂

A lot of it is mega expensive gear too, worn by kids from scratty underclass or working class families at a time when the media tell us no one has any money?

Beats me.

The 80s was mad like. Even the hoolies had to look a bit camp.

Loads of it is snide shite from Manchester market. The younguns at work wear it. Obviously fake when you get close up.

The expensive clothes for the working classes has been going on since the mod times and maybe before that. Plenty of anthropological studies around that. I think that was even bigger in the 80s than now and it’s definitely bigger in northern towns and cities.
