They might drink a bit less but that saving won't go anywhere near paying for the coke.
Few of the lads I work with think nowt of ticking on a months wage worth of drugs on then paying it off on pay day and starting again. Was lads like that in places I worked 20 years ago as well but seems far more common now.

It's lad culture. Wannabe Danny Dyers who like the hole casual imagine. People get drawn to these groups because of the lifestyle thinking it will give them some kind of purpose.

It's funny, because following a football club or belonging to one gives you some kind of belonging. Going to matches and meeting up with mates etc without the violence.

This. I've said for donkeys that the nanny and PC state we've been heading towards, coupled with lockdowns has these fuckwits thinking they are being rebellious by being c unts (or 'brutal' as they call it) to others on Twitter etc. This then transcends into real life.
They think thry are living in some sort of virtual reality where there are no consequences for their actions and, as long as they go viral, who gives a fuck anyway? Also, for the first time in 70 years, there is no real youth culture and movement to get behind.
Disagree on your last sentence. What we are seeing today is a resurgence of the casual scene. It’s a shit version but the young’ uns are well into it.

Lots of social factors but I’d put coke at the top. So readily available, goes well with the lad culture too.

He’s right isn’t he? Why has society gone like this.

Poverty? Those at the top not leading by example & behaving badly? Austerity? Covid? Culture changes? Social media?

Fully appreciate people will be along to mention hooliganism in the 80s etc

Social media and coked up arseholes.

Can imagine it's very easy to fall foul of some very nasty people doing that. Some will be payday loans but imagine when you start being in debt to the drug dealers  .

Have you been there? We went to the game after the Krakow derby; massive flag of their leader who was in jail for murder of a rival fan
Aye, but not to the derby. We were warned not to wear any brands like Stone Island because they associate with English straight away and we'd get brayed. Also told not to take pictures or videos.

Partly that but I think a lot of it is down to people wanting views on Instagram and TikTok etc.

“Pyro” “limbs” “scenes” all that shite. Everyone has to one-up everyone else basically.

I’m firmly anti-cocaine, I believe it’s causing massive issues in society but a lot of the “don’t give a sh•t” scruffy scummy antics we read about comes from kids or It comes from people who aren’t likely to be on gear imo.

It’s a wider breakdown of society I think. Fuelled by enablers on social media who seem to revel in playing down or advocating other peoples shit behaviour & choices.

Yeah, Under The Cosh went a few days before us and their camera man got a broken rib for recording. We were the same told everyone to keep off the ‘English’ clothing, was a good experience though

I'm governor at a school in Manchester and the behaviour of the kids is far worse in this school year than pre-covid, similar trend across the whole of Manchester. I doubt that is due to drugs and little to do with social media either (though it is a factor). Years 7 & 8 seem to be really acting up after missing their last year at primary school/first year at senior school due to staying at home.

Belgium- completely banned away fans for a period of time
Bulgaria- racist abuse when playing England that was just mad
France- they’re calling it a return to the 80’s, Payet hit with missiles weakly and several games completely behind closed doors, players and fans were fighting eachother regularly a few weeks ago
Germany- can’t really say as they’ve not had fans in until recent
Italy- don’t even need to explain this
Poland- experienced nothing like it before, the ultras basically police inside the stadium
Sweden- went to a game and it was a bloodbath

All of these are as bad, but the majority are severely worse than England
