Fabio holding out for AC Milan move - delusion

Giaccherini is a decent player that we never used properly. Di Canio didn't ask for him but after his previous insistence for British players was continually ignored, eventually agreed to the purchase. In all his time at the club he was never played regularly in a position to maximise his ability.

Borini (who incidentally does have one full Italian cap) is a great player in his own mind and a very average one in reality. Even he, however, has far more to offer than we've seen at Sunderland recently. He seems a very petulant man by nature and like many others he seemed to effectively down tools last season.

Like Defoe, Borini scored some cracking goals for us from limited numbers of half chances, particularly in his first loan stint, and with a very good conversion rate. The reality is that he has got injured and the side has got a lot worse. Playmakers like Ki and Johnson have not been replaced, and players like Borini, Watmore, Khazri, and M'Villa were asked to be both playmakers, strikers and cover in defence. We have really made it hard for players to shine for us. It is probably not a coincidence that so many players leave us and go on to do much better with other clubs where they are not expected to pull rabbits out of hats week after week.

It's an interesting theory and you make some valid points. Not many players do go onto better things though, or not in recent days. Ki is in and out of the Swansea side, which replicates his time here, M'Villa has blown hot and cold at Rubin, however, I agree we've not replaced Johnson and Watmore's injury was a cruel blow and Khazri obviously just wasn't fancied by Moyes.

Re Borini though, yes he did look a far better player in his loan spell with us when, by his own admission, his motivation was to get into Liverpools starting eleven. On the admittedly few occasions he was played in his preferred position up front he failed to convince.

I keep saying it, some of the people treat players on their way out of the club like they are being rejected by a girlfriend or boyfriend. Although, to be fair to @janey, I've sometimes got the impression he was more of a potential boyfriend idol than a football idol to her.
I wish he'd been a boyfriend, sadly I'm no competion for Erin :)

If he had his determined and committed head on he could be canny in the Championship. I'm not confident he would

He didn't move to us because he thought Inter might make a bid.

Celtic would be the best thing for him, he'd be a big fish in that league instead of average in the championship.
I agree Celtic is the perfect club for Borini, he is good enough to do well in Scotland and scoring a bunch in an easy league will massage his obvious ego.

Hardly delusional wanting a move back to a mid table Italian side when he's already done it in Serie A previously.

The mocking Fabio gets on here is sad to see and I expected better from a supporter like Janey. Fair enough he had a poor season but so did 90% of our players.

95% of this forum would do well in Scotland

Moyes was the reason our best players were shit last season.

Moyes and Moyes alone.

But like Big daddy Bruce he will never admit it.

Good look with that Fabio you lazy bastard.

To think I tugged myself to near death when we signed him too. I even called him dishy on twitter. Never again.

Apart from Catts. Phwoar.
Not lazy just a very very crap manager resulted in him and many other previously hard working players giving up the cause

Swap Rogic for Borini, would be a good deal for both clubs

To be fair a lot of our players we just as shite without Moyes...

I think fabio has plenty of potential and he could get a luxury move away from safc , he stopped playing last year but he wasnt alone

Borini will probably end up somewhere like Swansea, the Ities wont pay him what he thinks he is worth
