F1 2023

Danny Ric has broken his wrist!

Time for Liam Lawson to show what he can do… wonder how long a broken wrist would keep a driver out normally?
.

Assume De Vries will be chuckling into his chips & mayo.
At least 3 weeks, probably more

F1 drivers typically are able to “deal” with injuries like this quite quick and wouldn’t be surprised if he’s driving at the next race. Stroll broke his and was back in the car a fortnight later. Obviously depends how bad, etc., but you can sometimes just strap it up and dope up on painkillers and get on with it a lot easier than in contact sports
We all know Max is going to win this, and get pole, and fastest lap.

Im actually thinking about giving it a miss.
I’ll watch it in the background but can’t see myself really paying much attention unless Max crashes out first corner or something. Sports dead this season tbh

Danny’s absence this weekend is really just a sideshow.

For me the interesting issues are:

1 McLarens new upgrades and the impact they have on race pace.

2 Mercedes evolution.

3 What Natalie will be wearing Saturday and Sunday.

Yeah but if it’s just the short spells of heavy rain like we had hopefully it will just cause chaos instead of a red flag

I used to like wet races , but now it means the race not starting or going to SC
I originally hated the idea of those bolt-on rear wheel covers to prevent spray, but if it means we actually get to race on wets, then so be it.

If they work, they need to really think about the crossovers between the tyres, as there's something like a 5s a lap improvement on inters compared to wets on wet tracks - so as soon as there's no standing water, you have to get off the wets entirely.

Haven't heard much more about that idea recently, but guess they've been on their holidays

iirc the first test wasn't good. No reason to abandon entirely though.
Just looked, had no idea how close zanvort is to the ferry terminal. Easier to get to than Silverstone tbh

Quite fancy it for next year.
Might actually be in Holland at the time too
.
If lawson does anything better than dead last, I'll be very impressed
.
No way is Q1 going to dry enough for slicks.
