F1 2023

Trying to even slightly improve an absolute mess of a car is a waste of time when everyone else has a similar design to the Red Bull, and are improving themselves.

They’re only going to fall further back as the other teams improve their cars.

Hopefully for competitiveness they are working on next year's already, but we've heard that before. Beginning to wonder if the Merc era is now completely over, maybe Ferrari or Aston Martin will pick up the gauntlet and challenge.

It’ll take them 2-3 seasons to get back to the front and by then we’ll have Audi in the mix as well. Hamilton won’t stay there and Mick isn’t good enough to challenge at the front. Think this is the beginning of them leaving the sport. Once you lose that dominance you rarely get it back.
Lando quite incoherent...
Trying diplomatically to say “the car is crap and the team are useless”.

It does seem weird reaching round the Dolphins car park, that chicane is crap

Went to the Hard Rock Stadium about erm, 7 years ago, it was like it had been built in the middle of a large park and onto residential immediately beyond. We parked somewhere around what is the second corner. Totally developed now of course, new raised roads, I'm guessing a lot of the previous parking areas now underground.

That chicane just makes a bad circuit even worse. A medium speed corner onto the back straight could be slightly more interesting, but basically stopping the cars before a long straight makes it almost impossible for a genuine challenge to be taken down the straight unless the leading driver makes a mistake.

spot on.

It's a shame, but Crofty is right - we need Chico doing well to salvage any interest later in this season.

I was looking forward to quali today but thought tomorrow was gonna be a procession, but with Hamilton 13th, Verstappen 9th, Magnussen 4th and Gasly 5th, I think it's gonna be a really fun race to watch.

See, to my mind the leading teams are too reliant on the one perfect lap. Today we have Mercedes getting lucky by getting out of Q1 and then playing the same trick and losing Hamilton in Q2. Whatever happened to getting a time in the bank? When MV had a bad lap instead of skulking in, he should have gone for another flying lap, maybe only fourth, then come in and gone back out, it would have cost nothing. Too much maths/computer analysis and not enough reality coming in to play.
