F1 2022

Red Bull need kicking out the sport. Bunch of cheats.

The FIA are allowing them to get a way with it time and time again.
Exactly this. Bring the sport into disrepute again and again. Absolute scum, the lot of them.
Either that or sat with his lawyers working out how to make a watertight argument that RBR's overspend had a material effect on last year's title race.
It was that tight, the wind direction had a fundamental impact on the title race never mind £2m. It’ll be a disgrace if they aren’t stripped of the 2021 WDC

so they have been found of a minor breach of 5%, the FIA's own penalty for a minor breach is deduction of points. I mean this should be pretty straight forward right?

Some great replies to multiple posts on the Red Bull F1 twitter. Strangely their social media team seem to have finished for the day.
If that quote from Karen is correct that suggests that the allegations are not only true, but the breach was premeditated.
Time for some digging on the Sky F1 youtube channel during Monaco.

What comes under the F1 cost cap?

Any expenditure related to car – but not engines – performance is relevant for the cost cap. This includes:

  • All parts on the car (from the steering wheel to the wheel nuts)
  • All the elements needed to run the car
  • Most of the team personnel
  • Garage equipment
  • Spares
  • Transport costs
  • Everything in between

The biggest area of focus is car development costs, with teams having a weigh up what is developed, how much is spent on each part which is manufactured and how many of the parts are needed and can be afforded without overspending.

What doesn’t come under the F1 cost cap?

There are several big-ticket things that aren’t covered by the cost cap, including:

  • Driver salaries
  • The wages of the three highest-paid staff members
  • Travel costs
  • Marketing spend
  • Property and legal costs
  • Entry and licence fees
  • Any non-F1 or road car activities
  • Parental and sick leave payments
  • Employee bonuses and staff medical benefits
Engines – which are more complex because some teams make their own while others buy them – are covered by their own set of cost regulations.

It looks like at the Canadian GP Red Bull were assuming most teams will breach. (From about half way through to the end )

.
Another interview from Monaco 2022 this time. Stated he thinks at least 7 teams will breach it, and doesn't want to see a championship decided in court.

Makes a mockery of having a salary cap if 7 teams are perpared to exceed it in order to gain an advantage

on the plus side…..could justice now be served for Lewis given that Max is noe ( this season ) legitimate world champion ?

Tell you what mind how the hell does Horner live with himself the smug prick !

He knew all all along they over spent, must have been both wetting himself laughing and sighing the biggest sigh of relief that Toto and Mercedes didnt take the FIA and Masi to court because all of this would have had the chance to come out.

And then he lords their ‘ deserved ‘ success over everyone like they’re worthy of what they’ve been given/achieved

Newey aside the current Red Bull outfit are what/who i’ve hated most in 30 years of following F1

And the FIA will do jack shit about the breach

👹👹
