I wholly agree, but the FIA don’t have the bottleYes in a word. No team can be allowed to break rules
I hate the use of ‘ deserve ‘ in sport 99.9% you get what you earn and all Max earned last season was 2nd place in the race and therefore 2nd place in the championship until Masi intervened !Monza was a racing incident. No Max tainted glasses at all, but he defiantly deserved that title last year. How it ended was questionable but over the season he was by far the best driver.
Biggest disgrace of the season remains that he wasn’t DSQ after the brake check in Jeddah. Would have invalidated the Masi BS.I hate the use of ‘ deserve ‘ in sport 99.9% you get what you earn and all Max earned last season was 2nd place in the race and therefore 2nd place in the championship until Masi intervened !
And if he was the best driver then the FIA would not have rewrote the rules in relation to conduct during an overtake meaning you couldnt deny your opponent the chance to stay on the track directly because of how Max drove last season
That really was a mess that the FIA were very lucky to be able to bury under an even bigger avalanche of incompetence a week later. They even announced that the data proved a brake check, but refused to apply their own rules which state that the penalty is a black flag.Biggest disgrace of the season remains that he wasn’t DSQ after the brake check in Jeddah. Would have invalidated the Masi BS.
100% mate !Biggest disgrace of the season remains that he wasn’t DSQ after the brake check in Jeddah. Would have invalidated the Masi BS.
This everyone forgets of the correct penalty had been applied then Lewis would’ve only needed to finish 6th or so. The FIA manipulated a lot of decisions not to favour Max but to give Netflix the ending they wanted which just so benefited Max hugely. As another poster has said I wonder if the FIA are leaving the decision until tomorrow to correct last seasons resultBiggest disgrace of the season remains that he wasn’t DSQ after the brake check in Jeddah. Would have invalidated the Masi BS.
From what I've read and heard. It's a non storyHow about if you overspend by say 20% then you get 20% of each of your drivers points taken away. Sounds fair to me.
Where and what? From what I've read and heard. It's a non story
Nobody, and nothingWhere and what?
Sounds fair, I am of course a "max fan boy" but if they have really overspent then it should be a punishment next year in relation to how much they over spent. I don't know if the rules already have a punishment in place or not.How about if you overspend by say 20% then you get 20% of each of your drivers points taken away. Sounds fair to me.
Or, if you overspend in 2021, you lose the points in 2021. Simples.Sounds fair, I am of course a "max fan boy" but if they have really overspent then it should be a punishment next year in relation to how much they over spent. I don't know if the rules already have a punishment in place or not.
Maybe, but isn't that over spend going to bare more progress on next year's cars than what it has this year.. Plus if I was PER or LEC I would rather beat a heavily penalised max next year than be told after the season that I had won this year.Or, if you overspend in 2021, you lose the points in 2021. Simples.
It has a bearing on both. And probably all years until the regs change again. Which is why they need to be incredibly strong in their punishment. Exclusion from 2021, deductions from 2022, and budget cap and aero time reductions for 2023-2026 type of extreme. It’s cheating at a fundamental level.Maybe, but isn't that over spend going to bare more progress on next year's cars than what it has this year.. Plus if I was PER or LEC I would rather beat a heavily penalised max next year than be told after the season that I had won this year.
I honestly don't think anything will come from this as I am sure that any team that wanted to overspend could easily do so and have the legal skills not to get caught.
The drugs comparison is correct, and they use the term financial doping in other sports for the same kind of thing. That's effectively what it is.I strangely agree, it's the equivalent of drugs in cycling. They need to come out and either punish all teams involved , or show evidence that puts other teams minds at rest that it didn't happen. One way or another to stop endless speculation. ........ But this is the FIA, and wether you think they are in RB a pockets (I don't) or are just completely incompetent (I do) they will balls this up and no one will know what's gone on.
What will be entertaining if RB have contravened financial cap and heavily sanctioned including Max being stripped of 2021 title will be watching the way it is reported and back tracking by Sky and others. The drugs comparison is correct, and they use the term financial doping in other sports for the same kind of thing. That's effectively what it is.
Regarding the FIA, as time goes on I'm leaning more towards a total incompetence being the driver - or more specifically a weakness to any kind of pressure and Wheatley and Horner are very strong minded individuals who can play the game well. I'm unsure why they've started declaring precedents when giving penalties, but that too is stupid - just citing 1-2 incidents that match your penalty doesn't account for the hundreds of incidents that don't match your "precedent".
Absolute rubbishMonza was a racing incident. No Max tainted glasses at all, but he defiantly deserved that title last year. How it ended was questionable but over the season he was by far the best driver.
Will never happen while there’s a hole in Karen Horners arsehole…heavily sanctioned including Max being stripped of 2021 title
