F1 2022

he'll obviously never admit it and last year was bad enough but now he's picked up what's going to be seen by many as another tainted championship IF what's widely rumoured turns out to be true

you'd think privately as a professional that would always be bugging the fuck out of him. he might win a legit one some day

I'd Love McLaren to make it a 4 car fight next season, think Alpine will be close and I hope Alonso gets some luck

And now apparently they put the chequered flag out too early

You can't write this shit
I thought that! Max was 20+ seconds up the road but they only said it was the final lap when Perez and LeClerc passed the start/finish line. I’m sure it should’ve been 1 more lap

A lot of wound licking on the thread now, a shame it's normally rational debate has been suspended again. Better luck next time.
Has it though? Asking questions about the alleged cost cap breach and any penalties that might go with it is perfectly fair, because the implications of it are so significant. But I haven't seen anyone suggesting that the way he drove today, or through the whole season was anything less than fantastic, just questioning whether his equipment was legal.

One of the interesting rumours I've seen is that it could be a minor breach in relation to paying and keeping staff on the books under Covid pay...which IF true, would be harsh to penalise them for keeping people employed (who had no impact on development as that would breach the Covid scheme)

Covid had no baring on last year though it was 2020 when people were employed without pay

No it wouldn’t. Commendable that they’ve done that (if true) but in that case they would need to spend less elsewhere

Wtf? The stewards still haven't done the Gasly investigation for an incident that happened 4 hours ago, but it took them 5 minutes to investigate and penalise Leclerc? No wonder people call them out for inconsistency.

Got to have their World Champion graphics and throne room used rather than an announcement being made after everyone has tuned out

Incidents where someone could have been killed on the track are not important

Well done Max, a fantastic driver (even if he is a complete arse and drives for a thoroughly unlikable team). For me, after the fierce competition of last season, this season has been a massive let-down as a spectacle. Last thing the sport needs is one team and driver running away with it again, need to get away from those days. Hopefully some teams catch up next season, the yanks tend too not like to much stale competition in their sports so the US audience may go off the boil a bit otherwise. We will see what comes out on the spending cap front but I doubt its that significant of a breach. Newey designed the best car and is an amazing designer. Would be nice if he was at another team but cannot have everything. Roll on next season, please be more competitive.

Agreed I used to really like Ted but I’m going off him a bit.
Gasly gets a penalty - just announced
That's going to cause a reaction from the drivers as a whole. A piss take to penalise him when the FIA did something so dangerous. I don't get why he's being blamed for his speed, he was driving to his SC delta, then the red flag came out when he was 50 metres from the incident, ridiculous to expect him to have slowed down by then in such difficult conditions.

I hope the drivers do something but my cynicism tells me the teams will tell them to say nowt
