Exercise next to go

I get that, but how on earth can they hope to stop the spread if they continue to let this amount of overcrowding, then bang on about keeping 2m's apart? Not a chance this amount of commuters are key workers. The Mayor of London has said exactly the same thing - non essential workers need to stop using it. Surely enforcing this would have more impact on the spread of the virus, then banning me from taking exercise and walking my dog in isolation. Or at the very least, be extremely selective who actually are front-line key workers and issue them with some form of ID to travel.

I do see that - however; I think its being abused and a result, puts the very front line workers at risk.

Not sure if it's the same now but didn't they cut loads of services, therefore you just have the same ratio of people to tube/bus as you did previously?

They cut about 40 stations and reduced timetables - however this may have made it worse. As you say there's still the same ratio (if not more) people to tube/bus. Sadly, drivers/staff have also been affected/lost lives. Not easy as you say - but I'm still convinced stopping it would/could influence those that really didn't have to travel, whilst those that did, might be able to use alternative transport.

our lives will soon be under the total control of matt hancock , nobody saw that coming at the turn of the year . that a mediocrity like him could have total dominion over 70m souls
He’s just a Face, a spokesman if you like. The decisions will be made by the medical specialists.

Should apply it to London first, up here in NE its being adhered to.
It's not like, my neighbours are going about their lives as normal. In, out, mates round, cars picking them up. My next door neighbour had a bloke round for a hump the other day. Thery're f***ing arseholes, but some people just won't be told and do what they want.

For what reason would people travel into London if they don't need to?
It doesn't make any sense.

Apparently the lad who did that was a top runner in his own right , god only knows why he did that , bizarre
It was but it's given endless ops for poor comedic comments. Hopefully people get the message soon as I'd hate a daily run to be removed. Apart from keeping in shape for races when they return it keeps people sane. If removed good will could evaporate very quickly.

I see where you're going..
No idea - but they're not all front line key workers. They or their bosses might think they are, so they can keep revenue ticking over, but they aren't.

I don’t want any of it banned if you read my posts. I’m saying it is going to be banned due to the idiots who cannot abide by the rules, the few spoiling it for the many as usual.
This! Got a gleeful text from my Dad earlier telling me he'd driven to the local shops, via a 65 mile detour to "break the boredom". Safe to say I told him what I thought of his actions. Selfish, old bugger

It is a massive park that serves a huge area of Londoners. Many with no outdoor space I think if they want to use their hour's exercise for sunbathing it isn't the end of the world. Everyone in this country is vit d deficient so a bit of sunshine when it is possible is probably a good thing
Nee body is going to get rickets after 3 weeks indoors avoiding loss of life man ffs

It really pissed me off. The NHS, health and social care are on their knees. Friends and colleagues working up to 16 hours in the most stressful environments I've ever seen, physically and mentally exhausted, doing everything they can to preserve life. Many of whom are stopping in Airbnbs, alone, not visiting their partners and children who they usually live with, making do with a quick chat on the phone before they grab a few hours sleep and do it again the next day.

But Karen and Dave can't do without meeting their friends in the park as soon as a ray of sunshine comes out. They let their kids out to play with others because they're young and need exercise and there's only a 0.1% chance of them dying from it. Disgusting humans.

brilliant post 👏

They'd be better off dealing properly with those not following the current rules than punishing those of us who have done everything that's been asked of them.
They would be better off dealing with coronavirus properly, insisting on masks, testing everyone with symptoms, and contract tracing, which is leading to slower infection rates in countries like South Korea and Taiwan.

Plus, the people of South Korea and Taiwan who aren't infected are still going about their daily business largely as normal, and their economies are still moving.

This current government policy is little more than "herd immunity" (i.e. just take the casualties) by the back door.

I'm a medical professional and capable of staying away from people and not touching anything, so I'll be out jogging regardless. Not going to get unhealthy/fat because scratters are out having picnics.

If exercise is stopped visits to food shops will increase.

I'd say punish the transgressors and let the sensible ones continue.

Far too sensible!!

Instruct (do not ask) the Police to arrest / heavily fine those who are blatantly taking the piss.

Why should those who are fully adhering to the rules be punished?
