Every footballing pundit says no Red card

Not shit mate, its just to hard a job

Im fully aware its a hard job, but they ARE now professionals. you don't even have to go further than the premier league to see baffling decisions the are totally wrong on a weekly basis.

we need to either admit the standard isnt good enough OR admit they need help. because as it stands, it isnt working.

a debatable red that was hard to spot at full speed, against a one that looked nothing like it where the ref had perfect position? utterly spurious comparison.

simple as this. If refs keep f***ing up (and they do, it isnt bias, they're just shit) we need to give them help. And im not buying the 'pace of the game has increased' etc. excuses, the standard these days is just pathetic. so we need to help them.

If we're lucky, there'll be some spectacularly poor decisions against England in the WC and we'll get video referees in the same vein we got goal line technology after the last euros
How is that a deabateable red? There's nothing to debate, the facts are Wes won the ball cleanly and Friend is an incompetenent buffoon.

I am not saying it wasnt a horrendous decision ffs. Its plainly obvious it was[DOUBLEPOST=1385228089][/DOUBLEPOST]

It was a shocker of a decision mate, point I always make is that it isnt the first and wont be the last time a decision that bad is given. As much as its hard to take it has always happened and will continue to happen. We were dealt a shite hand today with it but we got away with one against Man City a fortnight ago

I'm not sure its a fair comparison. Larsson's against City wasn't an obvious red (I didn't know anything had even happened until I got home) whereas it was obvious (to me anyway) that Brown had won the ball cleanly as soon as the tackle was made.

Being a referee is Kevin Friend's job. He gets paid a lot of money to do it so the least we can expect is a certain level of competency. The 'its a hard job' argument just doesn't wash when people make such basic errors.

Yes, bad decisions will always be given but the sending off today is far worse than a 'bad' decision IMO.

im talking about larssons red there pal, Wes red today is possibly the strangest decision i've seen in a sunderland game

Much easier reffing a game and getting on your high horse like pundits do when you can watch half a dozen replays then make a comment on it. I garenutee you any of these pundits reffed a game or any knopw it all football fans they would make fucks up worse then what Friend has today
fuck off man

The FA needs reshuffling with people who have actually played the game to sort out this shite.

Rules made by men in suits that want the premier league to be free of tackling as it could cause injuries.
Robbie Savage head of the FA? Or perhaps Lawro and Merson?

The amount of stick ex pro pundits get on here, and every other forum, would they be any better?

15 years ago, everyone was calling for professional refs, we used to pay £500 a game, god knows what we pay them now but the quality has not improved accordingly.

players should watch rugby then they would know what a tackle is and how to get on with the games instead of trying to con the referees at every opportunity they get

I have just seem it and absolutely astounded! In the stands we were all convinced it was an excellent interception and were absolutely amazed when he got a red!!! You spend money on tickets and transport and whilst it is recognised that the chances are supporting sunderland there is going to be disappointment but for the referee to ruin the game with such an inept decision is just annoying.

it is recognised that referees might miss things, but what I can not accept is them seeing incidents that did not happen I.e. a supposedly dangerous challemge???

this word has creeped into the game and like the phrase " there was contact" should be banned!
who knows what the intention is other than the player himself, or it is blatantly obvious that he tried to snap his leg!

Which leads onto the philosophy of "he was "entitled" to throw himself to ground":rolleyes::evil::evil:.[DOUBLEPOST=1385231009][/DOUBLEPOST]

And as a result of Kevin Friend's incompetence, we will possibly now be relegated, as he has robbed us of our momentum in our recovery and probably given a severe knock to our players' fragile confidence.

I think he (ref) initially thought it was a legit tackle hence the massive pause before giving the red, but I think all this 'intention' nonsense being pressed by the FA is just clouding ref's decision making.

IMO the FA are softening up the English game in order to fall in line more with the way continental refs officiate in the hope that it will aid the England side

probably right aye.

can't stand watching international football, now the english game is just as bad. might be time to knock it on the head, bunch of poofs rolling around on the floor, clutching some bodypart that hasn't been touched wankers.

Never a red. My uncle works at Britannia stadium and said that Adams' ankle was swollen to hell and it was definitely a red card.. He's a f***ing dick! How can Adam's ankle be swollen if there was no contact!?! Whats more, he said Begovic's "tackle" was perfectly fine... How can someone be so f***ing clueless!

He landed awkwardly

If he argues Brown was sent off because of "not being in control and endangering the player" then he should have sent off the keeper too, whose challenge was far more dangerous and lacking in control. If he was consistent I think most people would suck it up and blame it on the game going soft. The way it played out was just incompetence.
