Hang on a second, our goal at Chelsea wasn't a fluke. It was excellent closing down from Richardson which caused Cole to panic. Wasn't the easiest finish either!

The result of good pressure from us.

Absolutely. Everton are a class team, built well despite having very little resources. We should be looking to be them in a few years.

You make your luck in this game and they probably deserved to win yesterday, they certainly had the ball around our box for at least half an hour.

They are ordinary.

How was our goal V Arsenal a fluke?

because the Arsenal player cleared it but it hit his own player and bounced into Bent's path. We deserved our luck due to the pressure we were putting them under. hence Evertons' sesond last night

I think we allowed them to play and made them look good they are ordinary.

FFS Cahill unmarked in the box for the first and an outrageous fluke or the second jammy bastards.

Whilst I do not agree with your analyses that SAFC 'allowed them to play and made them look good' and Everton being 'ordinary', even if that was the case, then it says as much about SAFC playing poorly (i.e. 'allowing' them to play) as it does about Everton being lucky.

Cahill's ability to make space for himself, so that he is unmarked in the box has happened far to frequently, against a lot of very good defences, to be dismissed as being 'lucky'

With regard to Everton's second goal, it is accepted that they benefited from some good fortune with the deflection, it could equally be argued that they were unlucky that the two chances cleared off the line and Beckford's shot did not result in goals - perhaps it is we who should count ourselves as 'jammy'.

I thought Everton played fairly well. Their passes tended to find their intended targets, they ran at our defenders with purpose and, in the main, their defence looked solid and comfortable.

No because clearances off the line are good defending and Beckford missing is bad finishing.

Good side. Most teams would have rolled over after going 2-1 down away from home, especially after leading early on.

Everton didn't though, they kept working, always looked a threat and played some good football at times.

You'd call the build up to Cahill's lob over Gordon 'good defending'?

Everton are a quality team and should finish in the top 8 this year.

They can play long balls to Cahill who wins so much and is strong on the ball.
They can also ping it about through the middle with Arteta pulling strings.
They have fast skillfull wide men who can get to the line and put in quality crosses.
If all that wasn't enough they always look likely to score from corners and set pieces.

The only mystery is why they seem to have slow starts recently.

As Bruce said, they are a team for us to emulate right now.

exactly, if they had a Darren Bent or a Gyan who could get them 15-20 goals a season then they'd be pushing top 4

Must admit I was suprised at how 'direct' they play. They're excellent at winning the second balls off Cahill.

We don't normally play like that, well we didn't last season. Somebody just needs to tell Jagielka to stop f***ing hoofing it, especially when we can play excellent football.

Distin was every bit as guilty.
Does Phil Neville always gain 10 yards on every throw in?
You have some quality midfielders. Arteta and Pienaar are top class.

now you see, that's bollocks. defenders defending, whatever next, bears discovered shitting in woodlands?
