Who knows. It certainly reflects their playing style. I love the way they ebb and flow, slowly building up momentum, like waves hammering at a beach.

Having said that it's probably more to do with injuries and them not having a big squad.

Thing is though, this season they didn't have loads of injuries at the start (like previous years) and still had a shocking start.

They badly need a top, top striker. Somebody like Gyan up front for them would be ideal - Saha was anonymous tonight, I thought.

So did we.

We've played a lot better this season, that was an average performance and we should've won, can't believe Beckford missed that chance, gutted.

Moyes baffled us all yet again with his substitutions, a lot of Evertonians are getting on his back now. We should be winning games and we're not and it's down to him.

Got to beat West Brom next week or we can pretty much forget about Europe. Again.

Would our fans allow that?

We try to be patience and probe the oppisition, you can hear the groans of discontent coming from the stands

Tonight was down to Beckford;)

Of course with such a good chance then he's got to take some stick but him and Yak should've been on almost straight after you scored the second. The amount of time we wasted f***ing about with Saha has cost us like it always does. How the fuck he came up with the idea to take Coleman off for Rodwell I'll never know. Being honest I wouldn't be disappointed if he left. Our squad has out grown him.

Who would you want in like, looking in from the outside would be mad to get shot of Moyes imo.

Personally I'd want Coyle. Moyes has been superb for us but we can't go on the way we are, it's ridiculous, he's so negative. The squad is brimming with creative talent yet he picks the same old faces in a stale 4-5-1. January is massive for him, if he manages to replace Pienaar and bring a goalscorer in it could get us back on track, if not he'll be getting more fans on his back.

I thought Everton's Midfield were exellent tonight, However it shows how far weve come that bar Henderson (who looks knackered!) we did compete with them. Though by the middle of the second half theyd took over. Cahill is a pain in the arse as usual!
Jagelka looks really good at the back tho Bent wasnt on his game tonight.
Where they come up short is up front, if they had Bent and Gyan or as good as theyd be up there challenging.
Happy with a point as i hoped for before the game. Best team ive seen for a while at the SOL :)

Will be hard to do in January that, fair points on rest of the post mate. You will know about the happening down there than me

Oh and hands of Bent and Gyan if you need a striker;)

Risky though, and Coyle hasn't really done much to warrent the Everton job.

Also, with 4-5-1, is that not just to get the best out of Cahill? He's a master in that formation and would he be as effective if he has to play a more disciplined midfield role?

In fairness he done more than what Moyes did to get the Everton job iirc, of course that does not means he will do better than Moyes

Yeah, I'd agree with that. But so far, Coyle has got Burnley up and has Bolton playing well, it's not a massive CV. He's not achieved as much as Bruce or Allardyce so far.....

Arteta was awful, don't know what's happened to him this season.

Don't worry mate we haven't got the money for their wages, nevermind their transfer fee :-(

Yeah, I'd agree with that. But so far, Coyle has got Burnley up and has Bolton playing well, it's not a massive CV. He's not achieved as much as Bruce or Allardyce so far.....

It's not about achievements for me, any idiot could come in and get top 10 with our squad, what I want is a manager who'll have us playing proper football which is what Coyle does. With players like Bilyaletdinov and Gueye not getting a look in (Bily gets played out of position whenever he gets on) it just gets frustrating. I'm probably being a bit knee jerk after seeing another 3 points slip out of our grasp.

Everton will always hit that glass ceiling in general until major investment in the team. They really need a guy like Short and a striker like Gyan or Bent, meanwhile we need PL stability.

Everton a re a good team as they proved this evening, any Sunderland supporter who thought Everton would be a pushover after Chelsea away really needs their head examined.

You say that, but you were a cut above us tonight and played some lovely stuff in midfield. What would Coyle bring that Moyes doesn't? He certainly doen't have anything on his CV that would suggest he could take you into the top four. As people have suggested, without some big money to throw around it's almost impossible to get into the top four, Moyes has done it once but still wasn't given big money to build, so what makes you think Coyle would?

Both of those players were mentioned by the blues I watched the match with, they both said that Bily isn't up to it and Gueye hasn't really been seen yet. I just think that you won't get there until you get serious money and if you want shot of Moyes, then we'll have him (despite how well Bruce has done up to now).

Agree with that. Gueye isn't ready yet and it seems Bily just isn't gonna work out.

Funds is the key hence a full back laying RM and I have to say that there's nobody I'd trust more than Moyes in charge given our boards lack of transfer funds.

Be careful what you wish for.
