How can anyone argue that wasn’t correct ffs 😅

clearly and obviously both offside and interfering with play
The ball is going in regardless of Sigurdson being there or not. De Gea moves to the side, opposite the way the ball is going. He’s going that way regardless, it should stand.

The deflection came at Sigurdsson and it would have hit him so he moved his legs out of the way so it would go in so is that what VAR see as interference?

Makes absolutely no difference and apart from anything else that’s subjective.

The lad is clearly offside and clearly interfering I can only assume it’s because it’s United that people are saying it should have stood, that or you don’t know the rules.

Not controversial, 100% correct

Remember when we all said VAR would stop big clubs having bullshit decisions go their way? Hahahahaha we were so f***ing naive.

What was it cloughie said? If he’s not interfering with play what’s he doing on the pitch.

Im honestly sick of hearing fans belly aching about being hard done by and other teams get all the decisions.

It is not an offence to be in an offside position, that’s the 1st line on the fa law 11 page, maybe someone should learn the rules

How’s he interfering with play when De Gea is wrongfooted by the deflection? You’re saying that if he wasn’t on the floor, De Gea would have stood his ground and saved it? He is not affecting the play at all, the keeper has moved direction and it’s going in the back of the net no matter if he’s there or not.

The justification  Obstructing the line of sight man. He’s on the f***ing floor

I'd still allow it...

But...

And this is the point that people always overlook. If the ref gives it there will be an incident next week where a player is in the goalkeepers eyeline and gives offside and everyone starts banging on about consistency. They have to officiate like this to give fans the clarity they demand. In the spirit of the law I'd allow it but we don't allow referees the luxury of interpretation. They can't f***ing win!

You need to watch it again, it was clearly going to hit Sigurdsson's foot and wouldn't have went in.

I thought this is why they'd strangely ruled it offside as he still 'played' the ball but I see VAR have been quoted as ruling it out due to Sigurdsson's being in De Gea's line of sight!
