I really dont know what you expect, all clubs sell players. Hopefully Moyes has a plan to make us more competetive even if |Kone does leave, after all, thats why he has been employed.
I dont consider myself a happy clapper, just a realist. If we turn down Everton, what would we do if Chelsea come calling?
I'm not sure if that's true or not. Unless we knew Kone was off then we spent £8m on someone who I imagine wasn't a guaranteed starter. That suggests to me that there is a fair amount available. I have no reason to suspect otherwise we have fairly consistently spent reasonable amounts. It's looking more and more likely that Short is unwilling to shell out this pre season, maybe in an attempt to balance the books a bit - you cant blame him on a personal level, but the benefit of spending a few bob and increasing our likelihood of remaining in the Premier League has to outweigh the risk of having a season with restricted net spending that could finally see us relegated.
On the other hand, maybe we will spend a few bob regardless. The only things we're absolutely clear about, is that the season starts in 2 days and we have positions (RB/CF) with 1 recognised senior pro, and we still haven't signed anyone that we can say with confidence will improve us. As crazy as it sounds for a team that keeps narrowly avoiding relegation, we appear to somehow start each season with a worse team than the one that finished the season before.
Do you thinks it's Moyes wanting the money to spend elsewhere or Kone wanting away?Be amazed if he doesn't go
Here we go....
We've got a replacementHe will still be worth a stack of cash in a year's time and we have more than one week to plan for a replacement. Don't you think that more sensible?
Which is?The opposite of what has happened.....maybe?

Not the brightest thing to say! That the club promised him a new deal that hasnt been offered
Who's saying that? Surely a bid being accepted would have come out at the time.

It's been suggested that Djilibodji was brought in when it seemed like Kone would be away by prehab. Not sure how true that is, it's all guesswork at the minute, but the events of pre season certainly seem to indicate that we're struggling. BSA's comments early doors about his frustration over transfers, to where we are now, bringing in 2 players that are basically risks, potentially as replacements for Kone and M'Vila, and another who could end up spending most of his time with the u23's.I'm not sure if that's true or not. Our squad looks in a poor state as it stands agreed.
