He never even said that he meant it's for
Moyes to decide not me and people are ducking twisting it for some reason!!!

He was asked if he wanted to stay and said yes it's not for me it's for moyes meaning it's not his decision it's upto moyes

Frankly he shouldn't have said anything at all - to anyone. I'm sure the club will have taken a very dim view of it.

Maybe he's a genuine kidda but engaging the fookwits in this Jibber, Jabber is just fanning the flames, but his body language spoke a thousand words to me when the Dooley asked if he wanted to stay....

I implied nothing of the sort. I was making the point that you can't justify the sale of Kone by suggesting that it's OK because Love, McNair, Rodwell et al can play there if needs be. You obviously think otherwise but I don't think it's that ridiculous to have 4 centre backs on the books like. McNair has said himself he is a midfielder BTW. And by your logic we shouldn't sign M'Vila as now we have Cattermole, Rodwell, Larsson, Kirchoff, McNair etc who can play midfield.

The crux of this, is that if/when Kone leaves, we are relying on Kaboul, Djilibodji and O'Shea at centre back. Kaboul is injury prone, Djilibodji is somewhat of an unknown, O'Shea is a good pro but will probably have to play far more this season that we would want him to, if we were looking to progress. Why take the risk?
Only because taking the risk potentially allows us to strengthen more in other areas. The club have to decide if it's worth it or not.

So as far as we can see this is all made up bullshit (apart from the stuff the fans filmed). I can't imagine the club being too happy and all the speculation has well and truly hacked the fans off anarl. Where do we go from here then ?.

Not convinced its all bullshit, no smoke without fire and all that. We go where Moyes wants to, his decision if there is a genuine bid whether to move him on or not

It seems the club accepted the offer from Everton long ago. Kone looks the one who's not convinced he should go.

Heard the same about it beling agreed a while ago. Can only imagine the hold up is contractual between Kone and SAFC.

It's very rare for a player to come out and make any remark to a random fan regarding his contractual status or a media shitstorm around him. It was unwise. I don't think there are any winners or losers.
It was bizarre, I don't know how much the fan earns but it seems as though Kone was asking him to feel sorry for him because he only earns £2 million a year.

Probably. We don't really know who would or wouldn't have come in regardless of the Kone situation though.
It's a balancing act we aren't in a position where we are likely able to do everything.

The situation should never arisen, it should have been managed properly. Aye ya right Billionaire chairman we have no fookin clout whatsoever, just roll over eh....

It's looking more and more likely that Short is unwilling to shell out this pre season, maybe in an attempt to balance the books a bit - you cant blame him on a personal level, but the benefit of spending a few bob and increasing our likelihood of remaining in the Premier League has to outweigh the risk of having a season with restricted net spending that could finally see us relegated.

On the other hand, maybe we will spend a few bob regardless. The only things we're absolutely clear about, is that the season starts in 2 days and we have positions (RB/CF) with 1 recognised senior pro, and we still haven't signed anyone that we can say with confidence will improve us. As crazy as it sounds for a team that keeps narrowly avoiding relegation, we appear to somehow start each season with a worse team than the one that finished the season before.

What do you suggest? We keep increasing the wages of players who demand it and hope to finish 10th?
Also keep rejecting offers that are double (or more) than what we paid for them, then when they are too old we get nothing, or they run the contract out and we get nothing, and we've had our memories of them 3 mid table finishes we are financially fucked

But remember when we finished 7th that year

If he's worth that much now then an increased contract and sell him next yea means we have a year to try and plan for a replacement not 1 week.

I think that is an eminently more sensible way forward.
