I could stomach it if we had several of our players in for this season as around 20m considering we've already got his replacement who was rated more highly a season ago. But we've not made any headway at all this close season in even getting the squad up to the level it was in May.

At the time the last few results and good team play from January onwards covered the lack of quality on occasions and there was a togetherness and a bit of a feel good factor returning as a result. I'm certainly not someone who rates Kone as highly as some on here do, but unless its for absolutely stupid money and we have two or three ready to come in then the timing is horrendous and its an error on the part of those making decisions at the club.
Me neither but your post talks about team spirit and togetherness. I think Kone is a huge character and really important part of that - my fear is that his loss will be greatest felt in that respect, more so than on the playing side.

Going to be f***ing embarrassing against Man City, at the least a 4-0 defeat, we must have the worst squad in the premier league
Bollocks that. We're better than Hull and Burnley for starters.

Let's just see what happens before the window closes. The camp and Moyes seem in good spirits and we've had a good pre-season results wise.

Pathetic this. It's not like we're trying to resist a top 4 club here. Congrats to Everton, they'll have a solid defence for next 5/6 years.

 You are f***ing embarrassing yourself

He knows absolutely nothing, and never says anything that isn't in every national newspaper

No surprise there was no mention of our 8 million signing last week

You were born in 1993 it explains why you are so gullible still

correct

I'm starting to wonder if the club will announce new signings just before kones announced at Everton to soften the blow if this definitely happening?

Moyes is the manager...

If he wants to sell we sell, if he doesn't want to sell we don't sell. ES has entrusted DM with running the football side of the cub so bot off...

If it is a bad move long run, DM will fall on his own sword...

I trust DM with the running of SAFC way ahead of any bed wetters on here....
I agree it's Moyes who will stand or fall

Well for those that think he's going/gone (and I remain unconvinced until a formal announcement ) he can only be going with Moyes' blessing.
No way would he take the job on a 4 year contract without final say so. Sure he may have to wheel and deal but it will have moyes written all over it.
People trying to blame short for this need to look elsewhere.
If he is going it's because Moyes knows we can cope without him. We have to assume he knows what he's doing.

Cracking......whatever happens we look like utter fookwits

Would be classic Sunderland to have 3 centre backs for the opening day of the season one being an over the hill O'shea, kaboul and someone who's played less than a minute of premier league football, kaboul and Kone looked like a fantastic partnership will be be gutted if he goes.
