I am almost certain that -
He doesn't want to leave (he's said so publicly and very recently)
The photo wasn't last night
He isn't on Merseyside
His agent wants a bumper new contract (I've no issue with us paying him more, he's worth it)
This place is full of over reactors
Lastly - he will be playing for us on Saturday
Love Kone and I'm convinced this is all bollocks
I don't believe anything until it's done, however I will continue to post my feelings on rumours etc just like anyone else should do if they feel the need to.
NahOr this is the next Bent/Gyan saga.
https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/transfer-rumour-lamine-kone.90539/Obviously not the gospel, but, I'm yet to see any mention of Kone to Everton in the Liverpool Echo (surely not as shite as the Sunderland counterpart) In any Everton forum (I know) and they seem to be after 3/4 centre halves without him included. I would be more than shocked if he were on Merseyside a few days before the first game.
And buying one on Williams from SwanseaOur position has to be stronger now Everton have lost a defender, we need to and should be clear, £30 million anything less it's a no.
However, we just seem to be letting this go without a fight.
Why would Allardyce offer him an improved contract 2 months after he signed a 4 year deal. Obviously the agent trying it on.
Tells its own story.i dont understand why the club cant just say fuck off he aint going anywhere and end it otherwise contracts are a complete waste of time
Right. Lets look at this sensibly. Everton have agreed a fee with Ashley Williams (£12million) and appear to have sorted his contract (2 year deal). He's due for a medical. Meanwhile the Mirror have created an article that reads like it's been written by Kone's agent (who's notorious for stirring the melting pot for his own benefit) claiming Everton have placed an offer (no fee agreed, no contract sorted, no medical arranged). Sky Sources go with the Mirror article but SSN are stating that "club sources" are adamant that no bid has been placed.
**Fast forward less than 24 hours**
we've accepted that Kone's gone, we've got nee ambition, our season is fucked before it's began and we're relegated.
I agree with all of that, including the last bit about Everton. It seems to be being overlooked that this could be Moyes decision in the determination to bash the club, or more specifically Short.the bit I don't get is that I bet a fair few posters have uttered something along the lines of, "David Moyes knows better than me/you" when talking about incomings. Does it not work for outgoings too? I'd be f***ing pissed off if he goes but if it is for the good of the team then so be it. We aren't a great pull in football and there is no loyalty. We will always be a stepping stone and any decent player we will have will be sought after, that's the nature of the business. My only issue is that whilst Everton are better than us, I could see Kone doing better than them.
Absolutely, an incredible deal.If Everton get Williams , Kone and cash for Stones they have gotten the deal of the century
