looked a really solid outfit tonight imo.

their midfield ran the game for long spells tonight.

still, its always a good sign when the opposition has such a good game and we still come away with a point.

Agreed. Good point for us. It says something when you'e happy with a point after conceding an 83rd minute equaliser. Normally we'd be gutted.

Aye, they did play well (without much end product it has to be said) in our half but we did invite a lot of that pressure on ourselves, some of the clearances and hoofs from us were shocking, even when we were under no pressure.

They are a good side. But just as long ball and direct as anyone else in this division without getting the reputation for it.

We've played some good teams at home and we are still unbeaten. Everton put in the best performance so far for an away team and we still came away with a point.

Can't complain too much.

Aside from West Ham in the cup they are the first team to come here and outplay us.

correct.

we were sloppy, against a (bogey) team who played really well and got a point. happy enough.

Not according to Marvelous Marv...

Everton are a poor side yet dominated the midfield.

Both teams will finish in the bottom half, and will both be lucky if they are not in danger of the 3rd relegation spot

I can name 2 worse teams, but I am not sure if I can name a 3rd. At the moment Fulham, but when Zamora returns that might change

:lol::lol:

Aye, I'm pleased though. Felt as though we needed a battling game to see how far we have progressed, as it's against these types of team who have struggled against in the past, and we did alright, played well at times, not so well at others, but the key was organisation was good throughout-solid in defence and quick on the counter-meaning we always looked relatively safe at the back and a goal threat given a chance.

We looked like a capable, solid mid table team, with a good squad, hence why we were still able to play well lacking the a more commanding CB like Bramble or Mensah and a player of Gyan's quality. With them back we look safe top ten, without them, higher mid table.

not sure about that like, they have decent players in the middle (arteta, piennar and cahill can all play).

They get the ball forward long and then are excellent at picking up the second balls, meaning they win possession high up and the likes of Arteta can hold onto the second ball long enough for them to flood your defensive thrid. A good and effective tactic, but very direct. No different to what Bolton were like under Big Sam really yet they strangely escape the criticism.
