Everton agree Koeman deal

Everton have been a fuckin shambles since they stupidly decided it was acceptable to allow Kendall to go to Real Sociedad back in 1987(?).
At the time they were the second most successful club in English football history behind Liverpool and as good as any team in Europe. They had more title wins than Arsenal & Utd at the time. I think theyve still more title wins than Chelsea & City combined. Anyone who thinks Southampton are in any shape or form a "bigger" club than Everton wants their skyboy head looking at.

This always seemed a bit high with the suspicion that Everton had included the commercial element of the Premier League TV deal within commercial income, even though most other clubs classify it as broadcasting income, and Deloitte have duly reduced commercial and increased broadcasting (though the total revenue is the same). http://swissramble.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Everton

Everton seemed to have perusaded Koeman they are in the big League. I'm not so sure. Southampton haven't been in the Premier League for all that long. When clubs get promoted (like Palace) their commercial income doubles to £12 million. Millstone of past glories for Everton. The commercial backers are not convinced wholeheartedly.

Leicester won't generate more than Liverpool this year.

Leicester will be the 13th biggest income club in the world this season but I don't think we're now the 13th biggest club in the world, far from it.

If we could generate that kind of money year in year out then I would say we've become a huge club but the likelihood that this is a one off season for us and our income projection for the foreseeable future will be about 10th in the PL making us a mid table level club.

I just think history is a poor argument for the size of a club, Huddersfield have won three titles in their history but is their stature in the game any better than Barnsley or a club like that?

It doesn't work so well when you cross it over countries but is an excellent indicator in the same country IMO.

By that logic Bournemouth are bigger than Celtic, Ajax & Lazio but that's obviously not the case.

Again your argument is weak, Real Madrid have always been a bigger and richer club than Barcelona but cant sign Messi, meaning money isnt all that important and they both play in the same country.

Also take that a step further domestically Man Utd have always been bigger and richer than Man City, but Aguero would not sign for them despite this.

So Its much more than your simple view of earning the most money consistently. Its basically a mix of recent success, historical tradition and how much a player is offered. Ronaldo was at one of the worlds biggest 3 clubs but wanted to play for Madrid because of their history. For you to dismiss clubs like Huddersfield saying they are on par with Barnsley is ridiculous especially since Barnsley have only just been promoted.

Koeman has gone to Everton as their is more career advancement. Southampton have reached as far as they can under him without serious backing, Everton on the other hand would see Southamptons positioning this season as a satisfactory one, and thats the difference. Now if Koeman flopped and Everton spent a few years bottom half youd have a point, but they had just finished 5th the year before after a 5 year spell of good finishes and cup final appearances Southampton could only dream of.

Is this a serious post like or have I been whooshed?

Real Madrid and Barcelona operate at the same level, if one earns a few bob more it's irrelevant. Try comparing Real Madrid with Villarreal or in fact any other Spanish team.

Everton is a step up from Southampton but a small one nowadays. You can't expect Everton to compete long term with the big six unless something changes, they don't have the finances to compete.

Brand name = bigger club = attracts more commercial revenue (at a glance).

If you have ever tried getting money out of sponsors you will find they want to put their dosh with prestige and success.

Where commercials want to put their dosh. 2013/14. Southampton are recognised as a fast growing football brand, more likely to overtake established brands like Everton.
Southampton have not peaked. They do not even have to sell players to make a profit.

Stoke & Norwich above Everton.

This won't go down well with the Everton fans on here.

Not really you forget a good number of seats are restricted at goodison + under Kenwright it's been acceptance of mediocrity in terms of commercial deals.

It's gonna be hilarious when the skyboys finally catch on to the new owner's ambitions:

£100 million+ transfer budget
100k+ a week after tax wage offers
New 50-55k seater stadium in the pipeline (which will increase income by some amount)
No doubt greater sponsorship deals with the new business savy board members.

We might even activate Kante's release clause think he might do a Koeman and leave for a smaller club to chase the £££

You don't half post some shite it's not a coincidence that only Leicester Fake likes your posts

Sorry but Everton are falling behind like, people are dismissing Soton too easy, they have a great set up and are growing.

Strange move
Falling behind ? They've just paid £5m for a f***ing manager do you think they would've did that if they haven't got big plans ? Or is Koeman just thick

Look at the state of their ground man, its laughable.

I like Everton, they are a big club, but I don't see what he can achieve there that he can't at Southampton. Its a sideways step.

Where would Southampton have finished the last 2 seasons under Martinez ? Seriously are you thick as fuck ? Everton have a very good squad they've just been managed by a clown the last couple of year

Southampton can't hold onto their managers or players I think that tells you everything you need to know about them

Southampton finished 6th, if he has a f***ing mint season at Everton, they finish 6th. Its a sideways step.

I think he could be a very good manager, should bide his time and he will get a top job. Sorry but the Everton one at the minute isn't a massive step up, its a good job obviously, and most managers would take it, but not sure.

Everton can't keep their best players, if Lukaku wants to go, he will. That is football. There is nothing between the squads either, Lukaku possibly, but apart from him, the squads are equal.

People will try quote John Stones as an example, but if he actually turns out to be anygood, he will be off in a flash.

Aye Lukaku will probably go if they get what they want but as they showed last season if they want to keep a player they will no matter how much offered or even if the player wants the move. When have Southampton ever done that ? Season after season 2 or 3 of their main players leave so easily it'll be the same this summer already talk of Mane and Wanyama being away which will happen probably they'll probably lose another player or 2 anarl

Maybe but it depend how much you rate the manager I guess, I think he could go to the top. I'm not trying to slag off Everton, I like them.

The fact that Soton, Stoke etc are close to EFC commercially and in certain other revenues is symptomatic of the way the club has been run by the old incumbents. Yet on here and in the media people questioned why the supporters were against Bill.

Those deals and the stadium issue are solely the boards responsibilities and they have been found to be incompetent again and again.

Once we become professional off the pitch (and don't underestimate the changes structurally) then we'll start to see EFC posting the kinds of figures they should always have been.

It's a risk by him leaving a good job like Southampton when he could've waited for a top job to come along but I doubt he's daft and clearly bought into Moshiri vision for Evertons future new stadium, promised funds to compete something they've waited along time for
