Everton agree Koeman deal

I don't think many outside of Everton realise just what a horrific job Martinez did over the last two seasons. The fact we managed to finished 11th (or wherever it was we finished) for the last couple of year is a testament to the individual talent in the squad.

Farhad Moshiri is the real deal, from the sounds of things he had Koeman at the top of his list and he's gone and got him, no expense spared. The whole reason he sold up his Arsenal shares is because he wanted to have an actual say in a football club and pledged £100m to spend once he arrived which has since gone to £165m given Lukaku's likely sale.

I don't expect anyone to believe we will spend that much but I guess we will have to wait and see.

I think Chelsea, United, City, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal are all looking good for next season so getting back to top 7 should be the aim.

After your collapse against us to send the Mags down, you deserve a good season

Are there any sctual quotes where he said £100m? My feeling is that it'll include the sales of Lukaku and Stones.

Considering we want £60 million+ for Lukaku and £40 million for Stones I doubt Kenwright would have sold to a bloke who has promised to invest fuck all mate! He is committed to show the colour of his money via his share purchase agreement made with Kenwright, Woods and Appercromby.

My own personal opinion is he'll invest in the squad, see the new stadium come to fruition then sell part/all of the club to one of his Russian oligarch buddies down the line.

Top 7 and above last seasons champions

It's not as if Everton have poor players attacking wise they're better than Southampton it's the defensive mess that Martinez left Koeman will have to sort out I'm sure he'll get Stones to cut out his fannying about
They're gonna lose lukaku, wouldn't be surprised if barkley left either

I think the new owner is full of it. He's not that wealthy compared to other PL owners.

Everton as a club are about the 7th highest income club in the PL but their income will be nearer Bournemouth than 6th place Tottenham.

Anyone who thinks Everton are a big club nowadays is living in the past and won't accept the tangible facts.

They've got more chance of winning stuff than Southampton. That's a historical fact.

It's an understandable move for him.

Everton are a much bigger club than Southampton and pretty much any team outside of the big 6. They also have a much better squad on paper than Southampton. It just needs a good manager to organise them. Southampton are pretty much at their ceiling, a new stadium and a little bit of investment could see Everton improve massively.

So what?

We're their Champions.

You're the champions yet your best players are f***ing off elsewhere. But if you wanted to keep them you could...

They've about as much chance of surpassing Liverpool as Leicester have of cementing themselves into the top 4/5 clubs. In 2014/15 Liverpool generated €226m more than Everton, the money always wins in the end.

It's not all about money you total bucknut.

Of course Everton are bigger than Southampton.

Only three teams have won the title more than they have.

No one has gone yet and Vardy is odds on to stay at Leicester now. https://www.skybet.com/football/transfer-specials/event/19348200
Kante may yet stay as he has entered negotiations. http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/L...Hopes-N-Golo/story-29371025-detail/story.html
Mahrez apparently has no release fee and wants to stay. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/riyad-mahrez-vows-stay-leicester-7925354

Now they may still all go but I wouldn't wet your y-fronts just yet as you drown in your schadenfreude.

Also it is all about money, look at the world's top ten richest clubs and tell me that it isn't. Everything reverts to the mean eventually, don't kid yersel.

Way the southern/kopite infested media have gone on you would have thought it was us that had been playing in league One 5 years ago whilst Southampton were the club with 9 league titles, consistent top 7 finishes (prior to 2 seasons under a championship level manager) an owner committed to invest and a new stadium on the horizon...

I agree with you apart from the kopite bit, there may be a sprinkling of this but it's mostly a southern bias thing

If they lose anyone Lukaku would as they showed last summer they don't have to sell even more so now with the new TV deal and new investment

strange decision to leave southampton

Bigger brand name. Bigger risk of losing his job.

I would dismayed if I was a fan of Southampton whose potential is being robbed. I would have thought they could compete on even terms with Everton.

Almost identical clubs. Everton have bigger gates but Southampton have higher prices to make up with the hardly important difference.

He was probbaly not the first choice at Southampton when they signed him up?

Everton must have serious ambitions if they've managed to persuade Koeman from Southampton. I'm not quite sure why he'd leave, unless he's unhappy. I mean it's hardly a step up really these days.

Everton will be top 4 this season

No chance.
