Everest Premier League

Nebula

Full Back
T20 league held in Nepal and being broadcast on UK Television by FreeSports (Sky 422).

I just randomly came across it channel surfing this morning when the opening game was on. Quite enjoyed it. All games are held at one ground. Beautiful landscape and good crowd.

Shahid Afridi amazingly still plays. I thought he retired years ago. Didn't do much though. No wickets in his 4 overs and wasn't needed to go in and bat in the run chase.

Sometimes I do prefer watching these obscure names in less glamorous competitions than watching the same players every year in the big franchise leagues. A more humble manner of cricket if it makes sense.

Caught the first game the other day, one of the bowlers for Lalitpur went for 48 in 2 overs and Ryan Burl of Zimbabwe smashed him for 28 in 5 balls! Saw a canny game in the CSA T20 on there the other day too so it's well worth a watch

played my first club game on that ground back in 1999 when it was just grass banks and no barriers. Took a wicket off a knee-high full toss slogged straight to midwicket. Then got a good one with a googly through the gate. Then mankaked a fucker. We had to chase down 96, I got 12 off the first 5 balls with 3 flicks through square leg, bowled the last ball trying it one more time. We lost by a run.

left for the US a month later, never played club level again.

thanks for the link, didn’t know i could watch it
