They'll not though really. And it's not as if that'd be any different to most weeks anyway.
True mate. I will be though, I'll be hoping they all get properly pumped when the Super League doesn't happen. (Which it definitely won't). Didn't really mind City/Arsenal/Spuds.

Because that's not the way racehorse leasing works. People lease the horse for the year or it's career, pay the training bills and get to keep all the prize money. The horse then returns to the original owner who still has the breeding rights. When he saw how much those breeding rights were worth, greed took over and he spat out his dummy for something he was never entitled to in his agreement.
You became irrelevant when Salford City were taken over by the class of 92. Every post you have sent says you deserve it.

This may well be bullshit but it came from a friend of a friend who was present at the meeting Woodward held with the players and staff yesterday. Woodward mentioned the club debt and asked all the players if they pulled out of the ESL who would be prepared to tear up their current contracts and resign new ones at 50% of the wages. Surprise, Surprise there was a stony silence from the players.

can someone explain, in simple terms, how clubs like man united, real madrid, barcelona etc.. the biggest clubs in the world, the most recognisable, the most marketable, the most popular, the clubs that generate the most money in the game, are all in massive amounts of debt ?

between them they must generate billions upon billions of pounds each year, surely they don't spend that much on players wages and transfers?

how are they financially managed so poorly?

You can chat as much shit as you want to matey but the plain simple fact is that Spurs are one of the “big six” clubs in this country, 2 titles is shit I would agree and no recent tangible success either, fact Is if Spurs had won a 90 minute football game in Madrid in 2019 you wouldn’t be spouting your shite would you.

How is it embarrassing to have won 17 trophies including 3 European ones, having the best facilities in world football, being one of the richest and most valuable clubs in the world and having a massive worldwide fan base.

You are being really nasty mate, but being a Sunderland fan I guess you are in a great position to take the piss out of a little club like Spurs aren’t you.

Fair enough mate if that's the way you see it.

Spurs are of course a big club. But as we all know they have won nothing other than 2 league cups in the Premier league era.... and as we also all know football is determined by merit.

Sunderland are in the third division. Rightly so. We have got ourselves there.

Spurs are where they are on merit. Currently 7th. Well done. And I take your point about 90 minutes in Madrid. But you lost and can only aspire to have a trophy cabinet such as at Villa Park or the City ground, through winning games on green grass, not on zoom calls and hand shakes.

No need for the swipe at safc to be fair. Spurs are in the discussion in terms of the biggest 6 clubs. But it all depends on your definition. Financially yes, but that shouldn't be the be all and end all. The fact some think it is is a big part of what's led us here.

In terms of overall success I'd say you're behind arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, villa and Chelsea, and probably man city (certainly will be soon if football continues), so big 6 is very arguable.

In terms (which I think matters) of having a history of being consistently big then I'd put you into the top 6 and move Chelsea out.

In the current climate you probably are, but it's hardly cut and dried, and it's hardly something to celebrate given how little has actually been won. As a fan I couldn't care how much the club is worth, or how many Asians watch streams, I want to see us win things. It certainly isn't clear enough that you should be getting into a competition where you're guaranteed to stay big forever. Having arguments about it on here is pointless and completely off topic. It doesn't matter if you are or not, that's not what this is about

Don't like cockney clubs as a rule.

Can't begrudge City fans their success 'cos they've been right through it, even if it has been bought. Don't want to see them win the CL though.

Bit of a soft spot for Man United when it suits. Liverpool get on me wick, though on occasion I have liked to see them do well. It's amusing when they balls up as well though.

no one is denying that spurs a giant club in terms of marketing and commercial potential, put your tampon back in and settle down. typical f***ing poncey southerner all your bothered about is showing off how much money you (or people you know) appear to have. let me put it simply for you - NO. ONE. GIVES. A. FUCK

come back and tell us how fantastic a club you are when you have had some actual shite to watch on the pitch and still get 40k fans turning up.

And the end of the day as much as the owners have the power they need the fans. If they didn't need the fans one of the other "Super Leagues", Chinese, Indian etc would have taken off.

I really don't think they'd get the support of the UK based fans, but it's whether they get enough of their global fans behind the idea.
