Financially It'll go back to what it was mid-late 90s, tv audience nearly all domestic, match going fans being the lifeblood of the club. Aye ok the best players won't come near it, but the competition would be more equal.

Not too much different to what the Championship currently is, the best league in the country most seasons.
Do you remember what football was like
Here in the 90s?

it was awful kick and rush stuff devoid of any quality all.

The quality in the Championship isn’t even that good now. If that’s as good as we get post-super league then you might as well wind it up now.

Imagine how bad it will be when the clubs at the top level have lees money than the championship gets now? Rank

I'd happily watch local football for something to do but my days of being a supporter would be over.

I just couldn't get behind South Shields in the same way and I wouldn't want to give a penny to owners that showed such a lack of respect for the fans and history of the club.

Say what you want about the six teams but their fans will be hating this and will make their voice heard.

but the short term challenge is..the clubs that stay would have to still pay the huge salaries to contracted players now..and they wont have that cash now..so they go bust?

Kick the fuckers out with immediate effect with all players banned from anything fifa or uefa sanctioned.
It's essential that they're kicked out.

Otherwise they'll be dividing up the trophies between them every season with the huge financial advantage that they'll have.

Football can't keep pandering to them otherwise they'll be back sooner or later with another money grabbing scheme.

Who is tuning into the super league across europe? No one will give a shit after a year. The fans of these clubs will get bored fast.

If these clubs lose their domestic football and local fan bases they are finished. The premier league will lose money but will gain in the long run from it being more competetive.

There are plenty of big clubs left in England without these 6. The rest of us are going nowhere.
Aye mate. JP Morgan have invested billions into it without thinking about who’ll be watching it in the ling term

why don’t you write them a letter and let them know where the flaw in their plan is

I’ve thought for a while that fans have been a bit deluded thinking that they are anything more than consumers of a product. These pricks are acting on it now and it’s going to require a seismic response.
UEFA and Fifa would be bust in a year if you do that,,TV rights contracts gone,

The likes of Man United, Chelsea, and Liverpool have very deliberately cultivated huge followings abroad - everywhere from North America, the Far East, India.

They’ve used the revenue from the resulting commercial deals to help them turn the top of the Premier League into something approaching a closed shop.

These massive and increasingly affluent elements of their supporter base might be all in favour as far as I know- in fact I expect they probably are.

Are their views worth any less than those of the plastic scousers and man United fans around the country?

Think I’m more than happy to let them all fuck off tbh
To be fair all premier league clubs have tried doing this, we have played pre season tournaments in asia, we tried to tap into the african market. Man utd have supporters clubs all over the world, they would be stupid not to go out to those areas to play pre season friendlies as they will lose them fans and revenue if they do.

Good question. I would be heartbroken in the first instance. But how hard would it be to just pick a new team or stop supporting who you love. Its awful on so many levels.
It’d be like that ace lass that dumped you when you were young. You’d love them forever underneath but happily tell everyone who will listen how much of a vacuous whore they’d become. Picking a team would come down to locality in most cases I reckon....the team that’s easiest to get to see regularly.

Thing is, with the teams getting richer, they’re all getting richer at the same rate, so no one will benefit. If buying between each other, a top player would cost £400m instead of £200m

How would you seriously react if this proposal goes through? Change teams? Protest, but go to matches?
I’m not sure myself, to be honest.
If I supported spurs I would be wetting myself at the idea of being a top 6 club having won fewer titles than safc... Huddersfield... etc.

As for mcfc, there club has been changed to the point where they are unrecognisable. Most maine Rd era fans feel quite numb by their club these days. Wasn't long ago when they were playing league fixtures at moss rose, Macclesfield.

Exactly this - the stupid clown's shoes are giving up their oligopoly - they'll be fatally weakened and the rest of the clubs will be invigorated and in Spain and Italy. They'll then come back with their tails between their legs.

It's laughable that they're considered one of the 'Big Six' and a club like Villa aren't.

They're not even the biggest club in their own city.

It's nose in the trough time again .

As a Mag supporting one of the top 5 biggest clubs in England .....

I'm appalled

23 year deal, wow and signed .

Nothing can stop this now so the premier league need to ban these clubs today

also Shalke a team with mining roots joining is disgusting

23 years of the same teams playing each other and no relegation, I can’t imagine that league lasting long. There’s a reason the American sports haven’t been adopted so much in Europe and part of it is because there model isn’t competitive enough. Obviously they’re not arsed about the UK or European market so maybe it will thrive. I just feel like the novelty will wear off personally.
