European Football Thread 2018/19

We’re in Valencia this weekend with friends so we went to the match today - Valencia were pretty disappointing to be honest, although had a couple of good chances second half. Was funny to see Eibar’s away fans (all 12 of them .....I counted:lol:) getting behind their team. Seems weird that Spanish fans don’t travel in any kind of numbers to away games - despite some of the distances?

Aye just not a thing in their culture. Suppose the kick off times don't help.

Getafe lost 2-1. Barcelona coming up too

Typical Valencia that today. It would have been a massive win with Sevilla and Getafe both getting beat but they have a habit of this sort of thing. Enjoy the city mate, its a cracking place!

Belotti penalty puts Torino 1-0 up against Milan. If Torino hold on they're right in the race for Champions League football next season

If it stays like this a win for Atalanta against Udinese tomorrow night puts them into 4th. Would love to see them get it

Yes it is :D just got back in from another good night out - but yes typical of them this season - I think their main hope of CL next season is to win the Europa?

Would like to see a fresh new face in the champions league from Italy. The champions league group stage could potentially see 3 new participants (Getafe, Frankfurt and Torino/Atalanta).

Atalanta beat Udinese 2-0 earlier tonight to move into 4th. Didn't realise that they're only 3 points behind Inter so even a 3rd placed finish is a pretty realistic possibility for them which would be their best finish ever

PSG losing 3-2 in Montpellier after leading 1-2 mental game

Canny comeback by Monaco were 2 down at Rennes now 2-2 still time for a winner for either side

The standard of Serie A this season is the worst it's been for donkeys years. Juve have been dire for large parts of the season and are somehow on 89 points, Napoli seem to be getting worse by the week under Ancelotti but have never been under any serious pressure for 2nd place and the Milan and Rome clubs have been nowt short of comical.

Sevilla 0-3 Leganes
No one wants 4th place in England or Spain

If the Qatari group go intend to sell PSG and buy Roma I think the quality of both leagues will go up. Serie A is becoming unbelievably boring, Juventus need putting under pressure.

Dortmund threw away a 2-goal lead to draw with Werder Bremen which in all likelihood ends their title challenge given that Bayern won today

Some madness around Europe today. Leverkusen were 6-1 up against Eintract Frankfurt at HT and Valencia 5-0 up away at Huesca at HT, they've added an early 6th in the second half!

This weekends results couldn't have gone much better for Atalanta. Won 3-1 at Lazio to pretty much put them out of contention for the top 4, Torino and Roma also failed to win and now they're only 1 point behind Inter. In the Coppa Italia final as well

Gasperini has done an unbelievable job there and they've been the most entertaining side to watch in Serie A by a mile over the last 2 seasons.

Valencia secure a top 4 finish beating Valladolid away yesterday. Massive shout out to Getafe and their brilliant season as they finished fifth!
