Ligue 1 back underway this weekend. Unfortunately Monaco have had to sell quite a few of their stars as expected after their unexpected Ligue 1 triumph with Bernardo Silva, Bakayoko and Mendy all gone with Mbappe expected to go to Real Madrid before the window slams shut whilst PSG have got Dani Alves in on a free and with Neymar expected to arrive it's difficult to see how Monaco can successfully defend their title.

As well as the opening weekend of Ligue 1, Bayern and Dortmund face off in the German Super Cup and there's also action from Bundesliga 2

Cracking game last week between Monaco and psg. Thought Monaco looked very good and Mbappe was excellent. Then Dani Alves stepped up and won PSG the game. Still only think they signed Alves to get his pal Neymar

I wouldn't be shocked to see Barca in for Mbappe now Neymar has gone.

It's the Dutch super cup this weekend with The Champions Feyenoord taking on Vitesse at De Kuip.

    Saturday 5pm.

Isn't that Feyenoord's stadium? Isn't it normally on a neutral ground?

It was always at the arena but as of this season it's being played at the ground of the current champions. Vitesse only received 1,200 tickets for it.

That's a strange decision - basically a home match for the champions then?

Yes, Vitesse have kicked up a fuss about it.

It's not the only country to do it that way. Noticed the polish one is the same as Legia played Arka in their super cup at Legia's ground and Arka only had the normal away end.

Bundesliga will be tighter this year imo. Fancy Dortmund and leipzig to close the gap on Bayern.

More games for Leipzig to cope with though. Be interesting to see where their focus is.

Lucky to not be 4-1 down. Getting battered here

The score will probably end up something along those lines if Bosz doesn't scrap the ultra-high defensive line at half time. It was like watching Villas-Boas' Chelsea side at times in that 1st half

    No way

Why didn't Lew just finish it

Holger Basturber has been released by Bayern. Was a really good prospect before injury.

No shock results in the opening weekend of Ligue 1, all the fancied teams pretty much won
