Europe Energy Prices

My electricity bill went up for the first and only time back in December but has dropped by the same third again for the March bill. So back to normal on that.

My water and heating is regulated once a year each February and the one they just did shows that I have paid more than I have used. Getting an entire month's (full) rent back plus a couple hundred kroner more. Was the same last February. Apart from the December electricity bill I have barely noticed any change in energy bills at all. Helps that our District Heating is owned by us all and that they are non-profit so the prices are always pretty low.

My TV package is going up by 150 kroner a month from April though. I pay more for that than I do electricity or heating.

Similar set up to ours - the annual rebate is always a pleasure

My electric is £300 and gas is £234.

Managed to lowere the DD for gas ti £190 but it won't let me drop the electric . Got panels now so that needs to be £200 max ..

Hopefully they will start seeing me in decent credit and allow me to adjust
Just go onto a normal direct debit. I get the bill one month and pay it the following month. I used my credit up first. I’m not giving them any money when I can get 4% and 5% on my dosh.

Equivalent of gas man reading the meter

Stephen Flynn said in parliament this week that "the wholesale Gas price is now 75% lower than at its peak" yet our prices will rise 20% in April, the energy companies are being allowed to mug the public and the reason for that is the amount of extra VAT raised is why. I bet a few of the tories get cushy consultancy roles when they lose their seats at the GE.
Just look at the revolving door between Westminster and most of the privatised companies.Boards full of ex minsters and MP’s earning huge amounts
Would have been done now under Corbyn. The right wing did, and continue, to poo poo the idea. Wonder why
Worried that someone would take their trough away…

 Not sure about being a beacon. And Denmark is probably a bit too Socialist for some. But it seems to work.

The District Heating doesn't yet cover all the country though so we also have people here suffering from higher oil or gas prices. But the District Heating system is wonderful and is being spread out more and more by each week at the moment.

And yet in the UK those with the same heating system are being hit with massive bills as it isn't classed as domestic and so not subject to the price cap.

so not about politics but you've mentioned the 'b' word?
Asking people not to make the thread about brexit.
Are you hard of reading or something mate?
Read what I said.
Some people could cause a f***ing argument in a phone box man.

I don't understand how that would work. I don't mean to put down the way you do things at your end but it boggles my mind.

My DD went up yesterday to £290. I changed it, but cannot go lower than £230.
I was £90 when I moved into this hour 4 years ago.

How this isn't being fixed it beyond me. Storage levels are high, supplies are high, wholesale costs are low.
We haven’t got any storage mate.
