Eric Roy

great bloke great mate and his family are fantastic, I had the pleasure of looking after him from day one, a proper gent, and a great footballer.
PS he could never understand how footballers went on the piss, during the season.

Can’t remember that much about him. Seemed to remember he wasn’t the quickest but a very decent football for what we paid for him( wasn’t he a free?) Head and shoulders above what we have now. Could certainly pass the ball ok.What’s other people’s memories of him?
A very good composed footballer

I liked him.

Yup. Alwàys thought Roy and Schwartz were a better combo than Kilbane and Schwartz. Binning Roy was not one of Reid's wiser moves imho.
This. Kilbane, after having Clarke, Hutchinson and the likes in previous years, was a bit pap att. Dunno why we sold Roy when we did. Reidy would just go off players or fall out with em and that was it for them.

Roy was great for the short time we had him. Remember him playing well in that 4-1 demolition of Chelsea during the first of those 7th place finishes. Like someone else said though, Reidy would find these players then seemingly fall out with them
