"Entitled to go down"

If they're "entitled to go down" whats the f***ing point of having defenders?
Just put 11 forwards on the pitch and the team with the ball can do what they want, then the other side get their chance when they have the ball.

When did this come into the game?

If a 6' plus bloke can't shrug off a passing nudge, he shouldn't be playing a physical contact sport.

Entitled my arse.

Walcott and Aguera showing what can be done if you just get on with it and play like a man.

Agreed.

The difference I suppose is Dallaglio et al are trained to stay on their feet and carry on running, where this lot of namby pambies are actually coached when and how to go to ground.

This. Modern footballers tend to come across as a load of soft shites. No wonder the Olympians and Paralympians pissed all over them this year.

The title of this thread belongs in the "I am gay" thread on the SMB.

Something else I've often wondered about. How come it always seem's easy to drag a footballer into a post match interview to fawn over him after some wonder goal or whatever. Yet you never seem to see anyone pulled up for something like yesterday. Could you just imagine interviewing Defoe after yesterdays dive. Show him a 10 second video of his theatricals, shove the mic in his face after questioning him with "what the fuck was THAT", and then watch him squirm.
Never going to happen is it. Toothless media have a lot to answer for.

Phil Neville got interviewed after his dive.

Debate about the Bale incident and diving in general on talkshite atm a few are getting stuck into the chimp for going down easy

Oh and his yellow card means hes banned for their game tomorrow

Be a f***ing non contact sport shortly.

Basketball is a none contact sport and a lot faster than football and yet they stay can stay on their feet. It seems its just football players that have legs like Bambi

v Reading mind ya so not such a big deal , can see him leaving spurs too

You seem to be overlooking the fact that all of the ex-pro's who commented on the Bale incident believe it was a penalty, and when the ref's review it they will probably come to the same correct decision.

It should have been a pen.

Hansen said similar things a couple of weeks ago following another dive shown on MOTD. His opinion then was that he didn't think there was anything wrong with players diving. Accepted part of the game according to him.

So we can pretty much ignore his point of view on wether it was a foul or not.
