"Entitled to go down"

When did this come into the game?

If a 6' plus bloke can't shrug off a passing nudge, he shouldn't be playing a physical contact sport.

Entitled my arse.

Walcott and Aguera showing what can be done if you just get on with it and play like a man.

Totally agree. This has extended now to a touch of pretty much any sort is sufficient contact for a pen or free kick. I wouldn't care but all the pundits who have been fucked if that rule stood in their day.

The players are at it too...Gareth Bale after our match today: "If there's contact it's a penalty or free-kick".

He needs to check the rule book as, last I heard, it's a contact sport.

I think it's technically non-contact, but I agree that contact does not equal foul

Bent used to go down with minimal contact and we all justified it as contact was made.

Short memories on here.

It was a pen for me. Arm right across him, as a deliberate attempt to hold him back. We'd be fecking furious if it had gone against us.

Mind AVB made himself look a right twat by defending both Defoe and Bale. Defoe should have been booked.

It's worrying when players have convinced themselves of that...the endless "contact/no contact" meaningless debates on Goals on Sunday have finally convinced people that there's a rule about contact being made whereas, in reality, there's no such thing!

Agreed - it is utter rubbish, and comes from ex player pundits.

Which shows it is a tactic condoned by the managers.

Bale - questionable and his reputation didn't help him.

Defoe - should be shot with shit.

That's not the discussion though, the point is this being "entitled to go down" crap.

Look at how Bale goes over on his ankle. One minute he's strutting around in his compression under armour gear, the next he's got weaker ankles than Oscar Pistorius

I remember watching Laurence Dallaglio still moving forward with 3 or 4 shaved apes hanging off him, they should get the video tape of that then beat the living piss out of any fruity pundit that comes out with shite like that . No the wonder football's fucked......
