We struggled with our batting once Butler and Hales got out in the world cup.

So even with our first choice I'd argue somewhat the same

Not even that weak of a squad either. I reckon each game we had 6 or 7 first choice players plus a couple who are essentially next in line to play like Salt and Duckett.

Terrible showing, Modern and Curran in particular were absolutely pathetic.

Agreed, it works at domestic or when he’s playing Ireland, but it’s not enough.

I reckon Modern is reaching the end of his international career. He's been brilliant but it looks like it might be time for him to chase the dollar entirely. He'll still be a big draw for a few of the franchises.
