They crucified Stokes for diving across someone for a catch last week but hardly any comment on Root diving in front of Malan..

Vaughan was making comments such as ‘needs to understand his space in the cordon, he’s not alone at gully anymore’.

In fairness they called Root for it on the telly. It's gone straight in and out, it's Malan's fault, simple as that. If there had been a deflection you can let him off, but there wasn't.

It went into Malan's hands and he dropped it.

Root is guilty of being absolute village by diving right - which you should never do in the slips to a left hander (same as diving left for a right hander), but it's Malan who drops the catch.
