England v India 5th Test

There isn't the quality in batting hence why we have two Matt Priors, two Flintoffs and two Bresnans though. You have to work with what you have got. Our batting isn't good enough because the players at our disposal aren't good enough. Just look at the runs being scored in county cricket? That should tell you what the problem is. having said that in England our batting is generally good enough because it gets us enough runs for our bowlers to win us test matches.

As I said, we heard the exact same patter after the 2015 world cup. With the appointment of the right coaches, suddenly the quality was there.

Hales, Vince, Jennings, Stoneman, Borthwick, Ballance, Lyth, Robson etc. All fine batsmen in the CC and the England set-up, scoring runs against international bowlers but failed to step up to the test team. It's a familiar story: a few promising performances, the opposition identify a recurring weakness and, instead of helping them sort out their game, we pack them back off to their counties with their spirits broken.

Only go to Intetnational games now if I get a freebie. The prices are extortionate.
I done one day of the ashes at Durham for the sake of "I was at The Ashes" but my only other time was Eng vs Aus T20 at Durham which was got cheap in exchange for day 5 ashes tickets which we paid £20 for. Like you say it's very expensive and my hatred for the ecb means I'd point blank refuse to give them a penny. I remember an earlier test match in this series they were 15 overs or so short on the day.

It’s a point Bumble makes on Sky constantly and he’s spot on. Nobody else seems to care.

Gifted us the wicket.

Really?

You're getting weird again.

Hardly that weird mate This was your team for Sri Lanka after Buttler had just got his brilliant test hundred at Trent Bridge

So for the winter....

Cook
Burns
Livingstone
Root
Pope
Stokes
Bairstow
Ali
Woakes/Rashid
Broad
Anderson

I wouldn't particularly choose any of those new picks as a hill to die on though.

Also its not about being proved wrong. Everyone one here makes utter fuck ups and selecting Buttler was a gamble and people were right to make that point. However for you it was the condescending way you mocked anyone who dared suggest he could do a job. Suggesting Buttler was idiocy of the highest order apparently.

Another coaching related whinge: why do we never seem to have a gameplan for players outside the opposition first 11?

Opposition change their team, we spend the next test working out how to play against them...Pujara, Bumrah, Vihari, Jadeja. Going further back Bavuma, Sohail Khan, Mark Craig.

Kohli should have just picked a different team every match.

So you're not quoting the other post where I said I'd be fine with him in the squad then? No? The one that directly contradicts you?

I stand by my opinion at the start of the summer (for reasons we've been over many many many many many times) and I'm happy to (re)post that he's doing everything to prove me wrong. I'm not sure (or care) what else you want, and your antics really are starting to weird me out a bit.
