England v India 5th Test

I know man, so are you

Listen let’s not fall out about it but I find your point slightly contradictory

Pace up lately

Good move getting Stokes on when it swings, genuinely think could be Anderson successor

I think Woakes will be if you mean new ball bowler. I think Woakes with the duke is very good and tight.

If you mean vicious swinger, then I think Stokes is already the best in the world other than Anderson. Some of the balls he bowls when it's swinging are the most unplayable I've ever seen, but I like him more as first change when the lacquer is definitely off.

Where we need more from Stokes is abroad. He's the one - apart from Archer coming through - that I think has real potential overseas, because he looks to be a natural reverser and can bowl 90mph. But he hasn't done it consistently outside of England yet.

On a wider note Steak Pie still wouldn't select Buttler for the Sri Lanka tour after his Trent Bridge 100. I wonder if he still holds the same view.

Remember, England aren't that good at home @smoker

ffs :lol::lol:

I’m not guna fall out over it man.
Your point is also contradictory by the way.

Yeah but the point about keeping Buttler at 7 is the exact same point you make for moving Bairstow up the order

He has been good abroad like, he just hasn't played in a while

Woakes is older than Stokes remember, people forget that, long term I see Stokes with new ball

I am also unsure what to do with Curran, we woldn't have won the series without him, but also not sure he is good enough to be in the side as a bowler, away from home

It isn’t I’ve never suggested moving Buttler up as he’s not a top 5 player on longer form of game, he’s a perfect 7 and needs to stay there with gloves, I’ve said this for about 12 months now.

Bairstow should be top 5 and relieved of gloves, I’ve said this for about 18 months.

You don’t want Bairstow to move as he’s had success at 7 yet want Buttler too despite him having success there.

That is contradictory.

England are so si

Why isn't Buttler a top 5 player?

You suggested Bairstow move up and he has failed massively?

Yet you think Buttler shouldn't move up

Its so contradictory

I honestly don't belueve you have watched any cricket this summer, Buttler is clearly a more solid batsman in defence than Bairstow, its blindingly obvious

You have a massive pre-conceived idea about both players and are too stubborn to change

Its almost like you can't remember Jonny batting 7

How is Buttler not a top 5 batsman

Fantastic character to come back into this match today. Indian bats seem to have learned nothing, nicking off to second slip time after time.

I’ve alreasy explained why I don’t think he’s a top 5 player, I’ve also explained why I think Bairstow is.

It’ll be about 18 months too late but I won’t be surprised to see gloves off Bairstow for winter and told to get on with his batting.

As I say, its almost like you've watched no cricket this summer

Has a team ever stuffed the top ranked team in the world 4-1 and received so much criticism?

We won already?

India are number 1 by virtue of their home performances where they serve up the most doctored pitches in the world. They've always been poor on their travels and never won a test series in SA or Australia.

I know all that. But they're ranked number 1.
