Will damage cooks mind, this could be the first pitch to ever have 2 number 11s score 50s.

Yet he looked like a school kid batting.

two 100 10th wicket partnerships first ever in test cricket, ECB need to fuck off making grounds bid for test matches so we can stop these shite flat wickets
 
Absolutely fantastic by these two.

Ironic that Jimmy, probably the only player in the team not picked (in part) for his batting, is having one of the best knocks.
 
Now for the serious post even though Im over the moon for Jimmy he deserves a knock like this.

But for there to be 2 10th wicket ton partnerships and 2 50s by number 11s for the first time in the history in Test cricket is an absolute disgrace.

This pitch is god damn awful and the ECB policy for awarding test matches has to be looked at. It causes the counties to make these shite 5 day pitches. Something has to change because this is becoming a far too regular occurence when the conditions are great.

Bang on. The dilemma is it's been a very entertaining test match, but for the wrong reasons. And that's all the justification the ECB need to keep allowing tests to be played on these utter puddings.

On a positive note, Jimmy's now made the highest score by an England number 11 in test matches with 60. One eye on the ton?

Apparently Moores and Cook were livid with the pitch. Its effectively what you'd get on the subcontinent, hence Indian seamers looking a lot more effective than they usually do in English conditions. We were bowling around off-stump, looking for movement whereas they were banging it in on middle stump hoping that the odd ball would keep low and get lbw decisions. That ultimately comes back to Cook and his marshalling of the bowlers though.
 
Really enjoyed this session. Some excellent shots have been played.

Indian players remarked that other than the temperature it is like playing in India.

The pitch is awful but its the first time I can ever remember a Trent bridge wicket like this. Usually the likes if Anderson and Broad do damage on it. So not sure if its purposely been prepared differently or if, as indicated, external conditions have dictated.

I'd still argue that no matter how dead a pitch a good attack should be able to knock over a number 11 without much difficulty.

We had a 163 run 10th wicket partnership last year on this pitch mind ;)

I know what you mean but pitches in England are becoming flat as fuck and it's only overhead conditions that lead to results.
