Sounds ok
100% would be better but its surprising how many people use holidays because they have to
Why didn't you just say 6 days?
We are the same. Charge people by the day.We need to take 50% of our leave by the end of June so all of our leave doesn't get bunched up towards the end of the year. We're a consultancy so charge their employees out on a day rate, so it makes sense really.
I’ve got 68 days to take year starting 01 April. Probably carry 5 days over to 22/23.I've got 39.5 days to take by September
Sounds like a rip off to me. Should be 100%. I’d rather have the time off personally like.
That's the way to do it.Had an email from HR today saying that I had 5 carried-forward days which I had to use by the end of March so I've just booked the next 5 Fridays off the the weekend after that is Easter so I won't be doing a 5 day week until the middle of April.
Not really relevant but I'm moving government departments next month I think. My current department have told me I need to use up all of my annual leave and flexi before I do (15 days leave accrued and 1 day flexi).
Is this unfair or allowed? I was hoping to get a git big bumper wage off them when I leave.
Fair? Sounds illegal more like! The company was still affected by the pandemic so that seems fair.
Iirc the rules are that if they get furlough for your annual leave, they have to give you the equivalent furlough. They also have to pay 100% for the leave you took and not the 80%.I took holidays throughout the lockdowns (some enforced and some that were planned before it all kicked off) and the company claimed furlough for the holiday time so effectively got that for a fraction of the cost it should’ve been for them.
Not going to lose any sleep over it but yer knar.
What was illegal about it?Fair? Sounds illegal more like!
Yeah, was topped up to 100%. I don’t really understand the extra week furlough on top? What does that mean?Iirc the rules are that if they get furlough for your annual leave, they have to give you the equivalent furlough. They also have to pay 100% for the leave you took and not the 80%.
So if you took a week off, which they then furlough you for , that week they have to pay you 100%, and then they also have to give you another week of furlough on top.
Unless I misread it, the employee was at work as normal, accruing holiday as normal, and when they actually take that holiday they are suddenly on furlough so the taxpayer pays 80%? Is that wrong? What was illegal about it?
