Empire Theatre

It’s a fantastic venue , better than the theatre royal (which is great also ).
If I was opening an old traditional type pub or a restaurant that is the area I would be looking , would get footfall almost every night not just Fri/sat

And yet the Peacock is often shut midweek, even with the Empire having a show on. The theatre goers are probably well catered for now with the Engine Room, Dun Cow and bars over the road, plus Low Row. Not sure I'd be adding another pub round there, but I agree the area is vastly improved.

I don’t mind paying a premium for a drink in a venue like the Empire, I just wish they had a decent selection. Nowt worse than paying over the odds for crap grog.

Think we had two Cans of wine last time a few month back and it was nearly £16. Think you can get the same stuff in B&M for £2

Nowt beats Consett Empire. ;)
In Golf some people call The Open the British Ooen. Consett Empire is just The Empire.
Separate entrance to a lounge , quite a few tables , nice ambience first drink is included in the package , you get to order pre drinks for interval etc
Spot on

Nice to take in a restaurant beforehand marra
enjoy

Not as good as Stanley Civic Hall
Isn't Stanley Civic closing?

Was there last night
Fantastic venue , Theatre Royal cant touch it imo
Highly recommend the Ambassadors lounge
Well looked after & added to the experience
Oh no it’s not…

Lovely place, as is the theatre royal. Both nice in their own way.

Was at a Wednesday 2.30pm performance at the Empire and the Dun Cow didn't open until 3.

Think that was a wasted opportunity.

Superb venue although let down by the fairly innocuous entrance. Theatre royal is much grander in the outside but not as nice inside. Not much the empire can do about that unfortunately. Love going there.
