These threads are at least handy for figuring out who to stick on ignore.

I don’t know if she’ll ever get a chance, or if she’d do well, but thinking a woman getting an opportunity is only down to ‘woke’ is tragic. Get a grip of yourselves.

The lower leagues are a lesser standard than the PL. Plenty of managers have success there and progress to the top level.
🙄🫣 by all means put me on ignore. I’m hardly being sexist or misogynistic, I’m all for women having their own game like men, likewise with anything else that has historically been male dominated. I just don’t get this clamour for a female to manage in the mens league just so some sections of society can tick a box and claim some moral victory. Can’t see why my opinion is being met with such abuse?!?! Thought we lived in a tolerant society?

Not many people have said that though at all. More questioning if she actually has the credentials after managing one of the richest WSL teams in the world.

I'm not sure I see how that makes her a a candidate tbh. Good luck to her if she gets it... but I suspect she wouldn't take it.

Few people saying she should start lower league and prove herself there, but that rarely works out. British managers doing well at league 1 or Championship level get stuck there. It is seen as their level. Premier League clubs would rather get a new manager from a mid table Dutch team than give a lower league English manager a chance.

You stated that she is only doing well because she is managing women, implying she couldn't manage men due to her gender. Pretty much text book misogyny.

So you think she would get the respect/support of a 100% male squad? 😳. who would clearly view her opinions as null and void!

I’d love to see her have a crack at managing a mens team. Be interesting to see if she cuts it or whether the gulf is too much. Would genuinely admire her if she gave it a go regardless of whether it’s a success.

Who ever hires her they in for a hiding for nowt. You won’t be able to second quests her team selection or critique her post match interview without out the press calling the fans sexist or toxic. Or can you imagine if she does a poor job and fans are chanting for her to be sacked the press would have a field day, not to mention the massive circus it would bring internationally.

England mens cricket white ball team have just appointed a head coach directly from women’s cricket. If the coach has demonstrated high coaching capability, good communication, and built good relationships with the players they coach / manage, what difference does their gender make?

Yes they are men though, not woman. Male players won’t respect a female coach, especially at the highest level.

It just won’t work, anybody thinking it will lives in a dreamworld.

Same was said about women in politics. Once players got over the initial novelty, they’d respond if they thought the manager was good.

Just because you have misogynistic views, doesn't mean she wouldn't earn the respect of the dressing room. In my experience people have issues with personalities rather than genders.

There are a number of female officers in the uk military, the police etc.

Indeed, but the men's game is an unknown challenge for a female manager. She may be very good, and I wish her all the best if she does get a job in the men's game.
I'm not against it, but it has to be on merit, that's all I'm saying. There seems to be a clamour for it to happen, which isn't a reason in itself to give her a job. If she applies for a job in men's football and doesn't get it, there's inevitably going to be intense scrutiny and accusations of sexism. It's going to be interesting to see how it all turns out.

It’ll be a bit like Sol Campbell then eh.
I’d like to see her given a chance somewhere. It’s a guessing game what her level is at the moment, would be good for her to prove where she’s at one way or another.

She has the same qualifications as each of the Premier League managers. That’s her level then isn’t it?

Not comparable.

Firstly you’ve assumed that a squad is 100% male. Secondly she has the same qualifications as every Premier League manager so why would her opinions be null and void? Thirdly any manager only gets respect/support if the results match the expectation of the club/fans/ownership…if they do why wouldn’t she get the respect/support?
